Ted Lasso is a tv show that sports comedy television series developed by Bill Lawrence, Jason Sudeikis, Joe Kelly, and Brendan Hunt, based on a character of the same name that first made his first appearance for NBC Sports’ coverage of the Premier League. The series was commissioned by Apple TV+ in October 2019 with Jason Sudeikis reprising his role as Lasso. It’s the first season aired on 14 August 2020 and upon its release, the show had a very positive response from the audience and the fans which lead to Apple renewing the show for a second season.

For those who don’t know, the show follows the story of Ted Lasso who is an American college football coach that is recruited by an AFC Richmond which is an English association football team. This is a very tough job for him as he has no experience with the sport and the show shows his journey as a football coach. This is a very interesting premise and the story is very good that is backed up by amazing funny moments that will make you laugh very hard.

As for the cast it consists of, Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, who is an American football coach from Kansas that is hired to coach a soccer team Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton who is the new owner of AFC Richmond because of her divorce. Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard. He is Lasso’s longtime assistant and a good friend. Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent. He is an aging and angry star who won a title years ago. Juno Temple plays the role of Keeley Jones who is a model that works for the team.

Phil Dunster as Jamie Tartt who is a young up-and-coming star. Jeremy Swift as Higgins that is a sycophant helping Ms. Welton in order to ruin the team. Nick Mohammed as Nathan, the team’s “kit boy”. He knows a lot about football hut lacks the confidence to tell anyone. Toheeb Jimoh as Sam Obisanya. Sam is a young player from Nigeria who is finding his footing. James Lance as Trent Crimm who is a skeptical reporter for The Independent. And lastly, Anthony Head as Rupert Mannion, Rebecca’s cheating ex-husband.

The show is currently going on and its first season is airing. The show is in its fifth episode and the upcoming episode is the sixth one which is written by Phoebe Walsh. The title of the sixth episode is All Apologies but its release date hasn’t been announced but fans might be getting the next episode on 4 September 2020 because the previous episodes released after seven days which was a Friday. You will be able to watch it on Apple TV+ which is a streaming service.
