In a recent interview with Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine, the superstar opened up more than anticipated about her highly publicized breakup, its emotional impact on her, and the insights she gained from the experience.

Reflecting on her recent struggles, Lopez remarked, “I was thinking about this time in my life, and I’m like, ‘That’s not what I thought it was going to turn out like.’” She connected her separation to various professional setbacks but finally concluded, “No, this is exactly where I needed to be, to lead me to where I want to go.”

“You had to hit me really hard,” Lopez candidly shares her journey of self-discovery and resilience after heartbreak

When asked whether she regretted her past relationship choices due to their outcomes, Lopez replied, “Not one second.” She candidly admitted that the experiences nearly overwhelmed her. “It almost did. But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, ‘Fk, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, god. I’m sorry it took me so long.

I’m sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it. You had to hit me really hard over the head with a fking sledgehammer. You dropped the house on me. Don’t have to do it again.’”

Lopez’s engagement history is remarkable, having been engaged six times: to Ojani Noa in 1997, Cris Judd in 2000, Marc Anthony in 2004, and Alex Rodriguez in 2019, along with two engagements to Ben Affleck in 2002 and 2022. Of those, she married Noa, Judd, Anthony, and Affleck the second time.

While speaking with Glaser, she expressed, “I finally got it!” Despite appreciating the lessons learned, Lopez acknowledged that the journey has been incredibly challenging.
