Jung Hae-in’s Silence on Dating Jung So-min Sparks Interest After “Love Next Door” Chemistry

South Korean Actor, Jung Hae-in and South Korean Actress, Jung So-min

An interview with Jung Hae-in about his role in the film “I, The Executioner” (also known as “Veteran 2”), directed by Ryu Seung-wan, took place at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul on the morning of September 11th.

The film “Veteran 2” continues the story of veteran detective Seo Do-cheol, portrayed by Hwang Jung-min, as he tracks down a notorious serial killer with the help of rookie detective Park Sun-woo, played by Jung Hae-in.

In this installment, Jung Hae-in takes on the role of Park Sun-woo, the newest addition to the Serious Crimes Investigation Unit. Known for his roles in “D.P.” and “Spring of Seoul,” where he wore military uniforms, Jung continues to attract attention in his police uniform for this film.

Jung Hae-in expresses concerns that his new role might change public perception of him, despite his previous success with “government job” roles

Jung shared his thoughts on playing roles associated with “government jobs,” noting, “I’ve received a lot of love for such roles,” but expressed concern that this new character might shift the public’s perception of him.

In addition to his film work, Jung Hae-in is currently featured in tvN’s “Love Next Door.” He remarked, “It feels like it’s been a long time since I played a lighthearted character. I think it’s been since 2019.”

He continued, “I enjoyed laughing on set, and with the drama approaching its climax, there will be many eagerly awaited scenes. There might even be so many that viewers will think, ‘Please, no more!’ so I hope everyone looks forward to it.”

Discussing his chemistry with Jung So-min, his co-star in “Love Next Door,” Jung Hae-in explained, “So-min and I are close in age and our characters are childhood friends. We needed to be comfortable with each other to avoid any awkwardness.”

He added, “Both of us are introverts, but once we got close, it felt like we had that childhood friend dynamic. We started playing pranks on each other. Although I don’t usually joke around, So-min was good at handling my humor, which made me more at ease. In past projects, I felt I had to be mature and central, but in ‘Love Next Door,’ So-min took the lead, allowing me to relax and enjoy.”

When questioned about fans speculating on a potential real-life relationship between them, Jung Hae-in responded with a smile, “No comment,” while adding, “Our on-set chemistry was truly exceptional.”

He also mentioned, “The whole cast of ‘Love Next Door’ plans to attend the premiere of ‘Veteran 2’. I’m grateful, but also a bit nervous.” “Veteran 2,” featuring Jung Hae-in, is scheduled to hit theaters on the 13th of this month.
