Exploring Daniel Ricciardo’s Wealth, Red Bull Controversy, and His Relationship with an F1 Legend’s Daughter

Australian Motorsports Racing Driver, Daniel Ricciardo

The future of Daniel Ricciardo in Formula 1 appears uncertain, with his career potentially concluding at the Singapore Grand Prix. Since joining the Racing Bulls team this season, the beloved Australian driver has struggled to make serious progress, leading to speculation that rookie Liam Lawson could replace him for the final six races.

With his contract nearing expiration and limited opportunities available for the 2025 grid, Ricciardo’s exit may come as an underwhelming end to his time in the sport, which has been tumultuous since his early promise at Red Bull.

Ricciardo is in a relationship with actress Heidi Berger, daughter of former F1 driver Gerhard Berger, bringing balance to his life.

Reflecting on his choices, Ricciardo acknowledges that remaining with Red Bull could have drastically changed his career trajectory, especially given the team’s resurgence. However, he stands firm in his decision to leave, stating in a recent DAZN interview, “I don’t look back with regret… it felt like the right thing to do.” He admits that while his career might have looked different, he doesn’t believe staying would have guaranteed a championship.

In his personal life, Ricciardo is in a relationship with actress Heidi Berger, the 27-year-old daughter of former F1 driver Gerhard Berger. Their romance became public in 2022, and Ricciardo expressed his love for her during an appearance on the Fitzy and Wippa podcast, sharing that their relationship brings balance and reduces stress in his life.

Ricciardo’s financial success has been impressive, amassing a net worth estimated at $96 million (£72 million) through driving stints with Renault and McLaren, along with lucrative endorsements.

McLaren’s Zak Brown noted that the team had to “write a big cheque” to sign him, while Red Bull’s Christian Horner claimed they were prepared to nearly double his salary to retain him. His marketability has attracted partnerships with brands like Optus, EA Sports, Beats by Dre, and Puma, alongside his own clothing and wine labels.

In terms of automobiles, Ricciardo’s collection is diverse. He still cherishes the Toyota Hilux his parents gifted him as his first car in 2006. Following his rise in F1, he purchased a Porsche 918 Spyder and later added a 997 911 GT3 RS and a McLaren 675LT to his collection.

Other standout vehicles include a McLaren 720S and an Aston Martin Valkyrie, valued at an impressive £2.5 million. Despite his affinity for supercars, Ricciardo has expressed a growing appreciation for vintage models, valuing the unique driving experience they provide.

Ricciardo’s living arrangements are equally extravagant, with a property portfolio worth over £15 million. He owns a one-bedroom flat in Monte Carlo, benefiting from favorable tax regulations.

Additionally, he has a home in Australia and a luxurious five-bedroom mansion in Los Angeles, which he purchased for £10 million in 2018. Ricciardo enjoys spending his summers there, stating that the weather and proximity to beaches allow him to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.
