After 14 years of presence on the station, Shaun Keaveny announced that he is quitting BBC Radio 6 Music.
Sharing a statement on June 11, the broadcaster stated that he was departing: “I am leaving six Music after 14 years (it will appear longer by many) to change things, change locations, change people, and the moment is right for a change.”
In early 2007 Keaveny joined the BBC and 6 Music, hosting the late-night show. The same year in April, he stayed for the 6 Music Breakfast Show till December 2018, when he made his goodbye to Lauren Laverne’s early beginnings for almost a decade. Keaveny presented the Afternoon Show from January 2019 till today.
The station stated that the Actor and DJ Craig Charles would take over from Shaun Keaveny as the host of the BBC Radio 6 weekday afternoon program. Beginning 13:00-16:00 BST, from October, the 57-year-old will begin presenting the show. Charles is perhaps most recognized for his performances in the Red Dwarf Science Fiction and ITV Coronation Street drama.
