The Chestnut Man, based on the debut novel by award-winning writer Sven Sveistrup, the creator of The Killing, has received its first trailer on Netflix. ‘The Chestnut Man is a gripping, suspenseful criminal mystery serial. It follows two investigators as they strive to solve a series of unexplained murders in a quiet Copenhagen suburb. The series opens with the discovery of a young woman’s body in a playground. One of the young woman’s hands is gone after she was brutally killed. A tiny doll constructed of chestnuts and matchsticks sits next to her corpse. Naia Thulin, a young investigator, and her new partner Mark Hess are on the case, looking for a clue to identify the serial murderer. Soon after, the two come upon a piece of evidence that connects to the case of politician Rosa Hartung’s missing daughter.
