A Sad News For BTS Fans

Are you an army? Not in the literal sense, but a BTS army (that’s what their fans like to call themselves); this news is probably for you, and let me warn you, it is not GOOD news! The band consisting of seven members – J-Hope, RM, Suga, Jungkook, V, Jin, and Jimin have decided to separate their ways and focus on their solo projects. Though they have assured their fans that it is just a “temporary hiatus” and they will return someday together, the fans are heartbroken. The army fears that the BTS will end up in the same fate as the band “One Direction.”

Sad News For BTS Fan

The announcement was made on Tuesday, 14 June, during their FESTA dinner celebration for their band’s 9th anniversary. When RM announced that they were going on temporary hiatus, he said that after going on for so many years, he was exhausted physically and creatively and didn’t know which direction that band was going.

He also said that he thought BTS to be a different group, but the problem with K-pop and the idol system that it follows doesn’t give you time to mature. He further stated that due to this constant pressure of producing something every day, they have lost their meaning as an individual and need this time to find themselves and the motive that will lead them further on in life, which as of now, has become monotonous for them.

Jin noted that work felt more robotic to him all this time and that he had hobbies that he would like to try on. Sharing his struggle, Suga also said it is a real struggle to develop meaningful lyrics. RM felt that they were letting the army down, but V and Jim were sure their army and fans would understand and support them no matter what.

J-Hope also pointed out that the break could be gained for them. Their band would focus and their solo self during the time and work on creating the music that they want, which has somehow got lost in the process, and when they get back together, that synergy will be like no other, and they will be better than before. Jungkook also said that they needed time for themselves to grow and mature and will return someday.

Hiatus Time Period

This is the band’s third hiatus since 2019, but those were the shorter breaks, and they returned eventually. Talking about their projects, J-Hope will be the headliner of Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival, and Jungkook released his solo called “My You”. The band announced their split, talked about its reasons and cried their hearts out. But Hybe, the South Korean entertainment company and the company that represents BTS, said, “BTS is not taking a hiatus. Members will be focusing more on solo projects at this time.” But gave no more details of any further collaborations or solo projects.

The band rose to fame in 2013 and was the first Asian band to win the artist of the year at the American Music Awards; they have also been nominated for the Grammy twice. The fans have mixed reactions to the spilt as the news devasts some; many have welcomed it and called it a courageous move. With love and well – wishes in their heart army has bidden farewell to the band, with hopes that someday they get back together for them!
