The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is a forthcoming American film. The genre of this tale excels in the department of action and comedy. Patrick Hughes has directed this film. Tom O’Connor has taken up the responsibility of writing it along with Brandon as well as Philip Murphy. This upcoming project can be considered as a direct sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard. Also, the parent film came out back in 2017.

The plot of The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is all set four years after the events took place in the original movie. Michael Bryce, also known as the Bodyguard, continues his friendship with Darius Kincaid. Darius is portrayed as an assassin. Also, these two guys go on a new adventure to save Sonia from new threats. Sonia is the wife of Darius. The cast of this film includes actor Ryan Reynolds reprising the role of Michael Bryce. Bartol Grozdek enacts the character of young Michael Bryce.

Then, we have Samuel L. Jackson doing the part Darius Kincaid. Salma Hayek will reprise the role of Sonia Kincaid. Other unknown characters include Frank Grillo, Morgan Freeman as well as Antonio Banderas. Richard E. Grany is going to enact the character of Mr. Seifert. Tom Hopper will do the part of Magnusson. Kristopher Kamiyasu is set to reprise the role of Zento. Gabriella Wright will enact the character of Veronika.

Production and Release Date

This sequel, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, was first announced back in May of 2018. Filming was being planned to begin later that year. All this while, we had Lionsgate, who was in talks to take the United States’ rights. Patrick Hughes was also wildly rumored to come back again for directing duties. The process of filming this project started on the 2nd of March 2019. The location was set to Europe.

Other filming took place in Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and the United Kingdom. If you were expecting it this year, there is bad news for you as the release was moved one whole year. Its original release date was set to be the 28th of August 2020. After the revision in the release schedule for many other films, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard film is also coming in August 2021. This was done as the full cinematic release is not possible in the ongoing pandemic. This also means that early release on Streaming Sites is also ruled out.
