Fans get ready to witness the final battle nights of The Voice Season 22 with Episode 14 just around the corner. The Voice is an American singing reality show. It first premiered on 26th April 2011 with the show based on the idea of The Voice of Holland and The Voice franchise. The show has been airing for twenty-one seasons. The show has been around the corner for so long that we have seen unseen talent reach better heights by showcasing their talent and finally getting the fame they deserve.
The series involves a panel of judges who select artists (over the age of 13) to guide them. These artists are set in the teams throughout the season and have to compete against each other under the guidance of their coach. Some judges that we have seen across so many years include Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton in the original panel.
Other popular singers have also been on the panel, like Shakira, Pharrel Williams, Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Ariana Grande, and Miley Cyrus. Meanwhile, the current panel of coaches includes Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Camila Cabello. Blake Shelton is currently the only remaining original coach on The Voice. To remind you, he is an eight-time winner as well! Whereas we can see Carson Daly host The Voice for this season as well. The Battle Advisors for the show feature our favorite Jazmine Sullivan (Team Legend), Charlie Puth (Team Cabello), Jimmie Allen (Team Blake), and Sean Paul (Team Gwen).
We are slowly heading towards the final battles of the three-participant knockout rounds, where we get to see the winning artists putting their talent and learnings to the test.
What Is The Voice?
The show has been inspired by the dutch- The Voice of Holland. In the show, the judges turn their backs on the contestant and have to solely choose the participant as a part of their team on the voice. This was a unique approach to singing talent competition television shows since this technique eliminates the idea of bias that can arise due to gender, race, and ethnicity and helps the participant get closer to a future they can build on a fair basis. With a little twist, if more than one coach presses the button in front of their chair to choose a participant- then it’s the final decision of the artist to choose their favorite coach! Professional popular singers have been for years mentoring unseen talent to win the $100,000 prize money and a record deal with Universal Music Group.
We have always seen new changes to the format of the show- perhaps to keep the competition alive. This season is no different, where we see that there will be three artists in every knockout, and only one will move forward (thus, increasing the pressure on both- the coaches and the participants). This time, there will be no celebrity mentors to help the coaches, which was previously a very keen practice that the audience looked forward to. There also comes an additional bonus for the coaches where in this season, they can steal an eliminated contestant from the knockout rounds as well as save a contestant from their team.
The Voice Season 22 Teams
This season of The Voice seems to be pretty competitive, with all the coaches trying their best to win. Despite the fact that Camilla will be sitting as a coach for the first time- she has had previous experience helping Team Legend in the previous season, and this year we can expect her to rule the knockout rounds. The teams, as of now, are divided as:
Team Camilla: Andrew Igbokidi, Chello, Jaeden Luke, Devix, Eric Who, Morgan Myles, Orlando Mendez, Reina Ley, Steven McMorran
Team Blake: Austin Montgomery, Bodie, Brayden Lape, Eva Ullman, Bryce Leatherwood, Jay Allen, Kate Kalvach, Kevin Hawkins, The Dryes
Team Gwen: Alyssa Witrado, Carla Brindisi, Justin Aaron, Daysia, Destiny Leigh, Kayla Von Der Heide, Kique, Rowan Grace
