He was diagnosed with the disease in his early teens but didn’t have enough money for treatment. The disease is a type of arthritis that can cause severe pain in the neck, back, and rib cage. Despite this condition, he still performed for the band for years and has decided to step down. Though he will not be a part of the tour anymore, he is still a member of the band.

Who Is Mick Mars?

Born in Terre Haute, Indiana, Robert Alan Deal, alias Mick Mars had relocated to Garden Grove, California, by the time he was nine years old. It was from this golden state he began his career in music. He also attended his high school in the state of California. He was 16 when he decided to drop out of high school and pursue his passion for music. A decision that upset both his parents and teachers. But music was Robert’s passion, and he stuck with it, and now the time has proven that he definitely did not make a wrong choice.

It was not an easy journey; when he started out as a young guitarist, it was not easy for him to get the attention and recognition he wanted. In the beginning, he played for R&B bands in California. To make ends meet, he played for small bands covering small events before he landed his job at Mötley Crüe.

It was the year 1980 when he changed his name and rebranded himself as Mick Mars, and he was inspired by a previous band player Micki Mars. He not only changed his name but also had a total makeover; he changed his hair color to jet black and added a bunch of tattoos. He also adapted his black hat, which has now become his signature look.

As a part of this major rebranding, he also gave an ad in a Los Angeles newspaper, hoping that managers to find him. This same ad was what got him to be a part of the band Mötley Crüe. From then, his name became synonymous with the band. The band was formed in 1980. The band gave him the lead guitarist position, and he toured the world with this newfound stardom.

They have recorded many albums and toured the world with energetic performances. These were his main source of income. If you are wondering about the net worth of Mick Mars, do not worry, we are here to give you all the details about the net worth of this rock star.
