While it was pretty much given that the relationship fell apart after a while, Lauren went on to explain how the two went on a break from filming, and it was like a couple of weeks in when she finally decided to end things, and they broke up. Conrad revealed that she gave Jason three days to get his stuff out, as she also got her locks changed.
The special took fans back to a never-before-seen scene where Conrad and Wheeler crossed paths post-breakup. Conrad looked back and admitted that when she saw Jason that day, it was the first time she had seen him since they had broken up and described the entire experience as really hard, and she further added that what made it harder was she could see that Jason was not sober.
Lauren Conrad Makes Shocking Revelations!
Lauren Conrad went on to confirm that the entire confrontation was rather fabricated by the producers and further said that neither Lauren nor Jason wanted to be a part of the scene. While recalling the entire incident, Lauren explained how she just wanted to leave, and the producers convinced her that Jason wanted to talk to her. She also admitted that although the relationship was pretty rocky, it was hard to bid goodbye to Jason.
Lauren admitted that the split broke her as she liked the responsibility of taking care of him, and also felt like when they broke up, she was abandoning him because there were a lot of nights that she was getting 2 a.m. phone calls and was compelled to go pick Jason after he passed out in the back of a club.
Lauren also revealed in 2016 that it was Jason’s substance abuse and their subsequent split left her “broken.” As Jason has made his amends with Lauren as he believes that she was a big part of his life, and there is stuff that happened in the past with his drunken ways that he needed to address.

While Lauren and Jason are not back together, the tel has moved on for good and has been happy with their respective partners. Jason Wahler has opened up about his addiction struggles while admitting that he is not proud of it and called himself a drunk, womanizing alcoholic.
He further recalled how after they shot Laguna Beach and going into Season 1 of The Hills was when his addiction took full force, and he admitted that it was Drugs and alcohol that was his solution. Jason further explained that part of the process of recovery and living his life sober was to make amends, and he made his amends with Lauren as well.
The Hills alum admitted that when he took ownership of his actions and let people know that he truly wanted to make things right, apologize and take the actions to fix things, it felt good as well. Wahler tied the knot with his wife Ashley in 2013 in front of family and friends at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California.
