Kelsea Nicole Ballerini and Morgan Evans’ romance started after they met each other for the first time at Australia’s Country Music Channel Awards, where they were co-hosts.
Kelsea Ballerini was born in the United States on September 12, 1993. Her first major step towards her singing career was the launch of her debut single ‘love me as like mean it.’
Her song ‘Peter Pan’ won the award of Country Favourite Song in 2017’s Radio Disney Music Awards. She also won the award for Country Favourite Artist. Her song ‘Heartfelt’ has also been nominated for a 2023’s Grammy in the category of Best Counter Solo Performance.
Morgan Evans is a songwriter and singer born in Australia. He released his first studio album in 2014, which he named after himself, Morgan Evan.
Morgan’s album Things that we Drink won the Best Country Album award in 2019. He has also won ARIA awards three times in a row. His song Single Along Drink Along has been nominated for Single of the Year in 2023’s Country Music Awards of Australia. He has been nominated for Male Artist of the Year in the same awards.
Like every other relationship, their relationship was also not easy, but after working on it when things still didn’t work out for them, they decided to go their separate ways.
How It All Started?
It all started when both Kelsea and Morgan were asked to co-host Australia’s Country Music Channel Awards. They met for the first time in 2016 at the awards ceremony, and they hit it off immediately.
They started their romantic relationship after kissing at the awards party the same night. In one of her interviews, Kelsea mentioned how Morgan asked if he could kiss her in a proper gentlemanly way. She said yes, and she added further, remembering their first intimate moment.
Their Engagement
Within a year of dating, Morgan proposed Ballerine in 2016 on Christmas. He went on his one knee in the kitchen when she was making pancakes. On that day, they together took a step ahead by getting engaged. Kelsea jokingly accused Evans of burning the pancakes while proposing.
On December 2nd, 2017, they tied the knot. They had a tequila theme wedding on the beach in Cabo-San Lucas, a Mexican city. They choose this theme to remember the night when they first met when they both bonded over a shot of tequila.
Their Public Appearances
The couple didn’t leave a single chance to show their affection towards each other in public. Kelsea’s one of the most successful albums, Kelsea, is composed of their moments. Both of them also collaborated on ‘dance with me,’ which was another success of Evans.
In one of the interviews, Kelsea said that earlier she was against the idea of them working together due to the respect they have for each other but later enjoyed the process of working together.
The couple was also spotted together at various functions. They were seen together in coordinated white clothes in CMT awards. They were also seen embracing the stage of ACM awards in Saint LLaurent’sblack matching clothes.
On various occasions, the couple shared their moments with fans. “n our third year of marriage quarantined … and we got better at Mario Kart, communicating, making dinner, and being best friends,” wrote Kelsea on her Instagram account, wishing Evans a happy anniversary.
The duo shared a snap from their trip to Tennessee, which they made to celebrate they are getting back together after they were separated for a while due to some differences.
Their Divorce
Even after 5 years of togetherness, when things were not working for them, they decided to go their separate ways and filed for divorce.
The American pop singer filed for divorce on 26th august 2022 and submitted the documents to the court on the same date. The former told her fans about this on 29th august via Instagram. She wrote about their journey, which was full of love and warmth. She also mentioned how much they have grown because of their relationship, which has come to an end. Kelsea also called their decision to take a divorce a difficult decision.
Evans also confirmed their divorce later in the day by updating his Instagram story. He also confirmed that their five years of marriage had come to an end. He also expressed how he wished for things to work out in their way.
Later in one of his interviews, Evans described how his single “ver for you is based on his personal life and thanked his fans for all the support they showed him through various means.
Their divorce was settled after 2 months of its filing. They signed the dissolution agreement in October. Going through all this legal stuff has taken a toll on Kelsea, and she started devoting all her time to writing songs and has decided to go for a personal growth journey.
