Dancing on Ice is back with another exciting season of contestants competing for Dancing on Ice’s 2023 champion trophy. The show is a British Television Series which is presented by Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, and Christine Bleakley.

Dancing on Ice hosts’ duo Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield first presented this show together for the first five years of this show that is from 2006 to 2011. Later, Christine Bleakley took over the role of hosting it when the show was restated in the year 2014 after it went on a three-year-long hiatus. The hosting duo returned in the year 2018.

The show has telecasted a total of fourteen seasons, and its fifteen seasons will be telecasted in the year 2023 and was supposed to start on 15 January, where 11 contestants will be competing for Dancing on Ice’s winner trophy till 12 march 2023.

Dancing on Ice Filming Location

Dancing of ice was previously filmed in Hertfordshire, one of the southern England countries’. 11 district country is known for its glorious cathedral, historic estates, and its countrysides scenery.

After its return in the year 2018 for its 10 seasons which was won by singer Jake Quickenden along with his professional ice skater dancer partner Vanessa Bauer, the show is being filmed in RAF Bovingdon, where a rink is specially constructed for this championship. RAF Bovingdon is an airforce station near the village of Bovingdon, which is in Hertfordshire, England.

Airforce ground is famous for its filming scenery. It has previously been used for the shooting of various films, which has been a blockbuster and has created records. Rogue One, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, and The Masked Singer have been filmed there.

With its return for the 10th season, which was hosted by Phil, he said, Yes, it has ice in the center of it, and there is a competition, but it will look and feel different.

Format of The Show

Each week contestants, along with their respective partners, perform the dance which they have prepared throughout the week. The judges will then score the performances on a scale of 0.0 to 10.0. Contestants who have been marked lowest can save themselves from being in the bottom two only if the public vote for them.

After the votes and marks are calculated, contestants in the bottom two will have to compete against each other. In “Skate Of,”, they have to perform a different dance which is known as Save-Me-Skate. Based on their performance, judges then will decide who will stay and who will go back home.

In the first eight seasons of this show, contestants were given an element, and they were supposed to include that element in their act. But, from season 9, this was removed and brought back in season 10 and was known as the judges’ challenge.

Some of the elements are cross rolls, Classic moves of Torvill and Dean, sometimes with a choice between them, Flying above the ice, suspended by a harness, Assisted and unassisted jumps, Change of edge, and many more.

Contestants of The Show

All 11 contestants are geared up and are preparing for the championship. This year’s lineup includes boys band, The Wanted, singer Siva Kaneswaran along with her partner Klabera Komini. Liberty X’s member Michelle Heaton with her professional partner Łukasz Różycki. Mollie Gallagher will also be in the show along with her partner Sylvain Longchambon.

Carley Stenson and Darren Harriott are also ready to dance along with Mark Hanretty and Tippy Packard, respectively. Olympic bronze medal winner Nile Wilson and partner Olivia Smart will also be there. Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and partners Brendyn Hatfield and John Fashanu, with partner Alexandra Schauman, will also be participating in the show.

EastEnders’ Patsy Palmer, who played the role of Bianca Jackson along with her professional skater partner Matt Evers is also geared up to set the stage on fire.
