As of right now, news has come out that actress Gal Gadot is receiving a 10 million US dollar payment for Wonder Woman 1984. This has happened after Warner Brothers decided to shift their DC Film over to HBO Max. The production company has announced that they would be dropping this tale on HBO Max and the theatres on the same day. A release date has been set for the 25th of December 2020. This news comes out after a variety of people thought that this masterpiece is going to get further delayed because of the Corona Virus pandemic.
This move has proven to be a precursor to a larger shift. All this while, we have the Warner brothers who have come out with an announcement that has shaken the entire industry of entertainment. They say that along with this, and Patty Jenkins directed the sequel, their entire slate of 2021 films will release on HBO Max with a theatrical release on the side. The studio has approximately 17 films under their banner that are supposed to come out next year.

Warner Bros promises Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins a payout of 10 Million US dollars!
The list includes some jewels such as Dune, Godzilla vs. Kong, The Suicide Squad, and The Matrix 4. All the people who have subscribed to HBO Max will not have to pay any additional fee in order to watch these films. They will be available on the platform for a month. Of course, after this announcement, Warner Brothers and the company are facing a major backlash. Although there still are some executives in the production house who think that this process is the new normal.
Also, one of the colossal issues that surround this format of release is the pay of all these major stars on the backend. As of right now, it looks like Gal Gadot has had her share of negotiations for the film. According to a report released officially by the New York Times, the actress will be paid additional 10 million US dollars apart from her salary. Also, the director of this project, that is, Patty Jenkins is also set to receive the same sort of compensation. This additional fee comes as a result of the negotiations ran by Gadot as well as Patty Jenkins’ lawyers between the studio.
Why have Warner Brothers agreed to this backend payout?
Typically, the stars who have the caliber such that of Gal Gadot usually receive a backend compensation that directly depends on the money that has been grossed by the project at the global box office. Well, it is now clear that the Corona Virus has changed the way in which we all watch films. For now, it is not sure that the film is going to see the same box office results as its parent movie. Well, if the film goes on to release on HBO Max, then these already altered results will be affected even more. Thus, a guaranteed payout is a smart way to earn the designated money.
