Haikyuu!! is a Japanese Shonen manga series that was written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. The manga focuses on a young high school student Shoyo Hinata, who becomes obsessed with playing volleyball after watching the Karasuno High School team play it on TV. Though he is inexperienced, Hinata joins the school’s volleyball team since he is athletic and has an impressive vertical jump. But the issue is that he is the only sole member, which causes him to find help from his other teammates in playing the game.

Some of Hinata’s friends join him to compete in the tournament, but unfortunately, they lose to a team favored to win, lead by Tobio Kageyama. This ends up sparking a rivalry between Hinata and Kageyama. Hinata is accepted into Karasuno High but is shocked to learn that Kageyama has also applied to the same high school. As the series progresses, Hinata and Kageyama put aside their differences, help each other reach their full potential, and help Karasuno restore their reputation in the Nationals.

Haikyuu!! anime has so far aired 3 seasons, and currently, the 4th season is premiering on television and Crunchyroll. The first half of this season: “To The Top” was aired in January 2020, the second half was supposed to air in July 2020 but was delayed to October due to the COVID 19 Pandemic.

The manga series was later adapted into an anime by Production I.G. The first season of the anime was aired from April 6 to September 21, 2014, on Crunchyroll. The season had a total of 25 episodes. The second season was aired from October 4, 2015, to March 27, 2016. The third season, which was known as Haikyu!! Karasuno High School vs. Shiratorizawa Academy aired from October to December 2016.

They even released 4 OVA episodes and 4 compilation films. The first season focused on Hinata joining the volleyball team and learning the trials and tribulations of playing it. The second season focused on the Karasuno team building themselves back up and practicing after losing to the Inter-High Preliminaries. The third season focused on the Karasuno team readying themselves to defeat the Shiratorizawa Academy team. And finally, the fourth season focuses on them taking on the Tokyo Qualifiers.

Haikyuu!! Episode 24 focused on the grueling match between Karasuno and Inarizaki. The episode’s ending saw Karasuno getting back into formation with Atsumu and Osamu preparing to unleash the minus tempo quick attack. Several members saw what the twins were trying to attempt. Osamu spiked the ball but was instantly blocked by Hinata and Kageyama. Ginjima and Akagi tried to reach the ball, but they were unable to, and Karasuno had gotten the final points to win the match. Tsukishima felt certain that everyone must’ve been surprised watching this, but Karasuno wasn’t. He was certain that the twins were attempting the attack, but Hinata and Kageyama did not falter.

Haikyuu!! Episode 25 will release on December 19, and it will pick up from where the previous episode has left off.
