The Plot of The Little Things

The story of the movie focuses on Deputy Sherrif Joe “Deke” Deacon, who is sent to Los Angeles for what should’ve been a quick evidence gathering job. But instead, he ends up getting into the search for the serial killer who is terrorizing the city. The LA Sherrif Department Sergeant, Jim Baxter, who is leading the case, is impressed with Deke’s instincts that he decides to help him with solving this case. But as they track down the killer, Baxter is unaware of what he has put himself into as he, unbeknownst to him, digs more into Deke’s past and uncovers disturbing secrets that could change everything in this case.

The Trailer Breakdown

The trailer first begins with Deke speaking to a dead body, saying to it, “You can talk to me. I am all the friend you got.”

We later see Deke arrive in Los Angeles for the case as sergeant Baxter tells him that a lot has changed over the years since he left the department. They discuss more the serial killer who kills girls and what kind of a car he drives. Then they end up coming across a mysterious man named Albert Sparma. Later, we see Baxter tell the press that they are doing whatever they can to catch the real killer.

He then asks Deke how he was able to work for 15 years without getting a promotion, and Deke responds, “Maybe I didn’t go to the right church.” We then see Deke and Baxter interrogate Sparma on the killings and then see him try to recreate the crime scene to prove that he did it. Then we see both Deke and Sparma smile at each other for unknown reasons.

Baxter tells Deke that he “wants to nail the bastard” for all the girls that he killed. He tells him that he wants to do that too, but for himself. We then see the scenes gripping with mystery and suspicion, and at the end, we see Deke tell Baxter about the little things that can “rip you apart or get you caught.”
