Before being with Bird, Rapp had been linked to TikToker Alissa Carrington. They were together for almost a year before confirming their breakup in February 2024.

She was born in Hong Kong

Even though there’s distance between them, Bird said she’s “very grateful” whenever she can catch up with her family.

She almost didn’t pursue a career in music

Speaking with ESPN in May 2023, Bird shared that her early life “primarily centered around sports,” and she was even planning to pursue an athletic career “professionally” before she got into music. However, after she learned to play the guitar at the age of 12, she said her life took a “full 180.”

She got her big break playing guitar for Olivia Rodrigo After Olivia Rodrigo saw Bird on TikTok, the “Brutal” singer reached out to her about playing guitar in her Disney+ documentary Driving Home 2 U, which followed her career after releasing “Drivers License” in 2021. That same year, Bird signed with Interscope Records (the same record label that works with Rodrigo).

She previously toured with Reneé Rapp Before revealing their relationship, Bird was the opening act for Rapp on the U.S. and European leg of Rapp’s latest tour, which started in September 2023 in Houston and ended in March 2024 in Dublin, Ireland.

In a conversation with Euphoria Magazine, Bird spoke about touring with Rapp and her second opening act, Alexander 23, saying both musicians are “both great at their job and they love what they do.”

“I learned so much from them every day, in a real way,” she said. “Reneé is so authentically herself. The persona doesn’t change… when she talks to me, she talks to me in the same way she addresses her fans.”

The two also performed together in November 2023 when Rapp sang her single “Tummy Hurts” on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

How the Couple Handles Life in the Spotlight

Like many celebrity relationships—such as Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan—the pressure of being in the public eye is difficult. When talking about life in the spotlight, Rapp shared her thoughts in a 2023 interview with People.

“I see so much about my love life online. Some of it is totally funny and doesn’t affect me, and others of it really, really f—ing hurts my feelings. Trying to figure out how to deal with it,” she said.

“It’s definitely something that I struggle with and that will keep me up at night, and also something that I can laugh at some days. It just really depends. A lot of the things though are f—ing crazy and hilarious and also very hurtful.”
