Brad Pitt’s Net Worth in 2025: How Much Does He Earn?

Brad Pitt is a well-known actor and producer with a net worth of $400 million. He is one of the most recognized and highest-paid stars, earning at least $20 million for leading roles in major films. For the upcoming 2025 Apple TV movie “F1,” he is getting $30 million as an upfront salary, which is a career high for him. He later surpassed this amount when Apple TV offered him $35 million to star in the 2024 movie “Wolfs” alongside George Clooney.

Throughout his career, Pitt has received several Academy Award nominations. He won an Oscar in 2014 as a producer when “12 Years a Slave” won Best Picture. In 2020, he won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.”

In addition to his acting achievements, Brad Pitt is the co-founder of Plan B Entertainment. He started the company with his then-wife, Jennifer Aniston, in the 1990s, later buying her out after their divorce.

Plan B has produced several critically praised films, including “The Departed,” “Moonlight,” and “12 Years a Slave,” all of which won the Best Picture Oscar. Many of Pitt’s own films, such as “Troy,” “Moneyball,” “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” “Killing Them Softly,” “World War Z,” “The Big Short,” and “Ad Astra,” have also come from Plan B. More details about Plan B will be shared later in this article.

Early Life

William Bradley Pitt was born on December 18, 1963, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He grew up in Springfield, Missouri, with his two younger siblings. After high school, he went to the University of Missouri, where he studied journalism, focusing on advertising. During his time in college, he discovered his love for acting and decided to move to Los Angeles, leaving school just two weeks before graduation.

Success

Pitt’s acting career began with a small role in a film called “Hunk,” and he had a brief appearance in the 1987 Kevin Costner movie “No Way Out.”

After a number of guest spots and small roles, Pitt gained attention for his supporting role in “Thelma and Louise.” In 1992, he starred in the Oscar-winning movie “A River Runs Through It.” His performance in the popular crime drama “Seven” in 1995 earned him a lot of praise, with the film making $327 million worldwide. He won a Golden Globe and received an Academy Award nomination for his role in “12 Monkeys.”

Plan B

In November 2001, Brad Pitt partnered with his then-wife Jennifer Aniston, super producer Brad Grey, and a few other executives to start Plan B Entertainment. After their divorce, Brad bought Jennifer’s share of the company for an undisclosed amount. Fast forward to October 2022, and it was revealed that Plan B was selling a 60% stake to the French media company Mediawan.

The deal valued Plan B at $300 million, with the payment split evenly between cash and stock. Mediawan paid $180 million for the 60% stake, which included $90 million in cash and $90 million in stock. If Brad originally owned 60% of the company, he either took the full amount and left Plan B, or more likely, he sold about half of his shares and shared the profits with his partners.

As of now, Plan B’s films have made $3 billion at the global box office, with a total production budget of $1 billion. The biggest hit from Plan B is “World War Z,” which made $530 million worldwide, followed by “Troy,” which earned $483 million.

Impressive Salaries

In 1991, Brad earned only $6,000 for his small role in Thelma & Louise. Just two years later, he was making $500,000 for Kalifornia, which is almost $1 million when you adjust for inflation. Two years after that, he earned $4 million for Seven. The following year, he received his first $10 million paycheck for Sleepers, followed by another $10 million for Seven Years in Tibet.

By the late ’90s, his starting salary had jumped to $17.5 million, which he earned for films like Meet Joe Black, Fight Club, Spy Game, and Troy. He also made $20 million for Mr. & Mrs. Smith and usually earned that amount for most leading roles where he wasn’t a producer. For Quentin Tarantino’s films Inglorious Basterds and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, he accepted a lower pay of $10 million.

In 2001, Brad chose a lower base salary of $10 million in exchange for a share of the backend profits when he starred in Ocean’s Eleven. In the end, he made $30 million from that film.

For his role in the 2025 Apple TV Formula One drama F1, Pitt was paid $30 million, and for the 2024 Apple TV movie Wolfs, he earned $35 million.

As a producer, Pitt has made even more millions, possibly earning more than he has as an actor throughout his career.

Personal Life

Brad was once married to actress Jennifer Aniston. They got married in 2000 but separated in 2005. There have always been rumors that their breakup was connected to his affair with Angelina Jolie, his co-star from Mr. & Mrs. Smith. After being together for almost ten years, Brad and Angelina got married in 2014, but they separated in 2016 and officially divorced in 2019. Their custody and support issues lasted for several years after their separation.

The couple has six children, a mix of adopted and biological kids. When Jolie gave birth to their daughter Shiloh, they made headlines by selling the North American photo rights to People Magazine for $4.1 million and the British rights to Hello! for $3.5 million, earning a total of $7.6 million. After the birth of their twins, Knox and Vivienne, they sold the rights again for a record-breaking $15 million, which still holds the record for the most expensive celebrity photo.

In 2022, Pitt began dating jewelry designer Ines de Ramon.

Philanthropy

Pitt has been actively involved in many humanitarian causes over the years. He has made large donations to organizations such as the ONE Campaign, the Make It Right Foundation, and the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which he created with Angelina Jolie. After the Haiti earthquake in 2010, Pitt and Jolie donated $1 million to Doctors Without Borders.

Together, through the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, they’ve given tens of millions of dollars to different charities. With the Make It Right Foundation, he helped build 150 affordable homes in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward after Hurricane Katrina.

Los Feliz Estate

Brad has built a large real estate collection with properties around the globe, worth more than $100 million.

From 1994 to 2023, Brad Pitt lived in a compound in Los Angeles, which he gradually bought through several transactions. He is said to have sold this mansion for $39 million in March 2023, after quietly marketing it for a few weeks, without officially listing it on the MLS.

The property is located in the Los Feliz neighborhood of LA and covers nearly two acres, consisting of five connected parcels. It includes four homes, such as a large 6,600-square-foot main house, a skateboard park, a swimming pool, and more. Brad bought his first part of the compound in 1994 for $1.7 million from actress Cassandra Peterson, famous for playing “Elvira.” Cassandra believed the house was haunted.

“Something weird was going on. Footsteps above my head on the ceiling. Clouds of smoke forming into what looked like a human and then disappearing. A black shadow floating on the bottom of the pool that wouldn’t go away. After a priest performed an exorcism in the home and a Native American cleansed the home with sage, it seemed to all go away.”

The main house has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, all in a spacious 7,000 square feet. You can see what the estate looked like in 1997, after Brad purchased a few nearby properties but before combining them into one large estate.

While married to Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt and his then-wife lived in an amazing 11,000-square-foot mansion in Beverly Hills. They bought the home in 2001 for $12.5 million, just one year after getting married.

They made big changes to the house with a renovation that took three years to finish. After their breakup and divorce, they sold the mansion for $28 million. In March 2020, the property was sold again for $44.5 million. You can check out a video tour of the former Pitt/Aniston estate in Beverly Hills.

In 2000, Brad spent $4 million on a beach house sitting on 15 acres in Goleta, California, just north of Santa Barbara.

Then, in late 2006, as he was preparing to build 150 affordable homes in New Orleans, Brad bought a historic mansion in the famous French Quarter for $3.5 million. He and Angelina Jolie put the property on the market in 2015 for $6.5 million but took it off the market after not finding a buyer.

In 2004, Brad bought a mansion on a bluff in Malibu for $8.4 million. He sold it in December 2011 to Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi for $12 million. Six months later, they resold it for $13 million. In October 2022, the new owner sold it for $45 million to two fashion entrepreneurs who are close friends with Kim Kardashian.

In 2015, Brad purchased a villa in Majorca for $3.7 million.

Then in July 2022, he spent $40 million on a beautiful historic home in Carmel Highlands, California. Most recently, in April 2023, Pitt bought a Los Feliz home from Getty oil heiress Aileen Getty for $5.5 million.

Chateau Miraval

In 2008, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie spent an impressive $67 million on a large 1,200-acre winery in southern France called Chateau Miraval. This place is known for its rosé wine, and you can find its bottles in most high-end grocery stores across the US.

The main house on the estate is said to have 35 rooms, along with several guest houses and even a recording studio. They got married at the chateau in 2014. However, the property became a big issue during their divorce, which reportedly lasted for years because of it. Eventually, they reached a settlement that likely included plans to either sell the estate in the future or let their kids inherit it.

Brad Pitt’s impressive career, which has lasted for decades with many critically acclaimed performances and blockbuster hits, highlights his status as a global icon. Beyond his acting, Pitt has shown a strong commitment to philanthropy, including supporting housing projects and disaster relief, which shows his desire to make a positive difference.

His work as a producer through Plan B Entertainment has changed Hollywood storytelling, winning multiple Oscars and solidifying his legacy. From his amazing real estate investments to his love for filmmaking, Brad Pitt keeps inspiring with his creativity, resilience, and generosity. His story shows the heights of success along with a dedication to giving back.
