Jeet Ki Zidd: A Story of Brave Hearts on Zee5

Jeet Ki Zidd

Zee5 is all set to stream an upcoming motivational series titled ‘Zidd’ that premieres on 22 January. With Republic Day being just around the corner, it seems like a perfect opportunity to witness a show like ‘Zidd’ with a tagline ‘Jeet Ki Zidd.’ With the military element surrounding the series, it clearly hints at the determination and never-ending hopes in the hearts of the soldiers.

The trailer of the film was released by the official YouTube channel of Zee5 on 29 December 2020. Starring Amit Sadh, the series is based on the real-life and struggles of Major Deependra Singh, an Indian Army officer. The trailer begins with a visual of Amit Sadh being in a wheelchair. It then takes us years down the lane in his life, when he aimed and worked to be a part of the military forces. We see him being passionate about his dream of being a soldier and putting efforts to overcome the barriers that lay amidst his way.

His parents are against his wish to join the armed forces and stop him from appearing in any of the entrance interviews. But when your dream becomes the source of your survival, no one and nothing in this world can ever stop you from achieving it. This is beautifully depicted in the trailer when we see him being a proud ‘fauji’ and fulfilling his duties of protecting the people of his country.

But his journey is not a bed of roses; instead, it full of thorns that try to rip off his determination and strength every now and then. The major, despite all odds, preserves his stand and continues to walk on the path of his passion. But fate has a different story weaved for him. He gets shot during a war and ends up getting paralyzed down his waist. He is broken on the inside and finds himself to be helpless. His dreams have been shattered, and his strength-nullified. But the Major rises again, despite all odds.

His ‘Zidd’ aka ‘stubbornness’ of winning ignites the fire within him to stand on his feet again. He works hard, both physically and mentally. We also see him in a management institute while he is paralyzed. But will his ‘Zidd’ help him bring back the major within him? Will he be able to stand on his feet once again?

Well, to witness the story, we’ve got a few days to wait. Apart from Amit Sadh, we see Sushant Singh in the trailer of Jeet Ki Zidd, who plays the role of a strict mentor whose way of motivating the major isn’t full of soft-spoken phrases. Instead, what he says is enough to break his heart for him to pick up the pieces again. He had been the reason for the major to be determined enough to join the forces by challenging him, and he still is the reason to help him rise again.

On the other hand, Amrita Puri plays the role of the major’s wife, who is strong, just like her soldier husband. We see her being his support and his motivation to rise again. Her never give up attitude towards her husband’s paralysis is something that is inspired by the brave family of the soldiers who send away a piece of themselves every time they send a soldier from their homes to protect their nation.

Directed by Vishal Mangalorkar, the story is a tribute to the brave sons of India and their families. Produced by Arunava Joy Sengupta, Akash Chawla, and Boney Kapoor, the show’s trailer is enough to give goosebumps to the viewers. The series also marks the debut of Boney Kapoor in the world of web series as a producer. The inspiring story of brave hearts is all set to premiere on 22 January 2021 on Zee5.
