An Amazon Original ‘Tandav’, one of the most anticipated shows of 2021, is ready to premiere soon on the streaming platform. The official YouTube channel of Amazon Prime Video dropped the trailer of its upcoming Political drama series titled ‘Tandav.’ After his debut on the digital platform with the Netflix series ‘Sacred Games’ opposite Nawazuddin Siddique, Saif Ali Khan has marked his comeback in the hearts of the audiences with content-driven projects. Now, after the success of his previous show, Saif Ali Khan is all set to leave the audience in awe with his upcoming show ‘Tandav.’
The trailer stays true to its intensity in the entire span of three minutes. The show seems star-studded with various prominent actors of various generations. As they make their appearance one by one, they manage to steal our attention in their designated time of presence in the trailer. The show revolves around the political life of a charismatic politician named Samar Pratap Singh, the son of India’s Prime Minister Devki Nandan.

The trailer begins with the narration of Devki Nandan, where he introduces us to the character of Samar Pratap Singh. He shares his point of view regarding Samar and feels that he sees a dictator in his son. He says that while being a part of politics, he surely has done a lot of wrong deeds, but he has never tried breaking down his country. Devki Nandan feels that if his son comes to power, he will put an end to democracy in the nation.
The next moment we see the death of Devki Nandan and his son performing the last rites. Samar Pratap Singh aims to be the next Prime Minister of the country after his father’s sudden death. But his way towards having the grip on the nation isn’t an easy one. We come across Anuradha, a politician who is as hungry for power as Samar is. She is a woman who doesn’t let an opportunity slip off her hands. The character of Samar is portrayed by Saif Ali Khan, while the characters of Devki Nandan and Anuradha are portrayed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and Dimple Kapadia, respectively.
Apart from the above-mentioned characters, we also see Sunil Grover as a mysterious and intense character who we aren’t sure on whose side. He plays the role of Gurpal, who seems to be the one who will uphold the suspense element of the show. When being asked about the person he’s supporting, he comes up with a dialogue in the trailer “Sahi aur galat ke beech me jo cheez aake khadi ho jati hai na, use raajneeti kehte hain, aur hum raajneeti ke saath hain,” hinting at his character to be the one who is ready to go to any lengths, if it comes to the politics.
The trailer also holds scenes of Zeeshan and Kritika Kamra, who play the role of student leaders. Zeeshan portrays the role of Shiva, who wants to bring about a change on his own. He feels that his personality and beliefs are inspired by his name, and he will be successful in bringing the flawed pillar of politics down. In addition, we will also see Kumud Mishra, Sarah Jane Dias, Gauhar Khan, Kritika Avasthi, Dino Morea, Anup Soni, and Paresh Pahuja in the show.
Seeing the actors in their respective power-packed roles, the urge to see the entire show increases. The trailer of Tandav seems to hold a gripping story that is likely to set a milestone in the world of Political Thrillers. Created by Ali Abbas Zafar, the show is scheduled to premiere on 15 January 2021 only on Amazon Prime Video.
