After the cliffhanger ending in both reel and the real end of Batwoman season one finale, fans were all excited for Season two. Season one was already cut down to twenty episodes from the predetermined twenty-two. All because of the current pandemic hit around the world. By the first season of Batwoman ended, Ruby Rose departed from the show. As she was playing the character of Batwoman, many expected another character would replace her in Batwoman Season 2.
Even CW was thinking about recasting someone in place of Ruby’s Batwoman. But then there comes an unexpected change. It was recently announced that there would be entirely a new character playing Batwoman instead of Kate Kane (played by Ruby Rose). It was made official that in the new Batwoman season 2, the Batwoman character Ryan Wilder, played by Javicia Leslie.
Cast Of Batwoman Season 2
As we have said, Javicia Leslie will enter the cast as Ryan Wilder, a.k.a Batwoman, in the second season. Other cast members from season one, such as Rachel Skarsten (who plays Alice), Nicole Kang (Mary Hamilton), Meagan Tandy (Sophie Moore), Camrus Johnson (Luke Fox), and Dougray Scott (Jake Kane), will be returning.

We can also see Christina Wolf as Julia Pennyworth, Shivaani Ghai playing as the dangerous and terrifying Safiyah, and Warren Christie as the faux Bruce Wayne. Even though we have seen Warren in the last season, it is expected that he will get much more screen time than the last season.
What’s in for the new Season?
The first season ended with Alice making plans to get her hands on the Kryptonite by sending Tommy Elliott in Bruce Wayne’s visage. This is to take it from Bruce Wayne’s Wayne Enterprises. With this, she is planning to kill Batwoman. We can expect the Season two will pick up from here. But CW is not ready to let their fans figure out what will be happening in the next season. They have released a massive synopsis for the upcoming season:
In season two, when Ryan goes missing, Gotham struggles as they lack their hero. The Batwoman’s belief becomes looses from the public mind as they witness the stand-off between Commander Jacob Kane and the Crows. Kate’s disappearance hits hard at home, where Jacob, Sophie, Luke, Mary, and Alice (Rachel Skarsten) are devastated by the news.
While the False Face Society toughened its hold on Gotham and began to distribute a new dangerous drug called Snakebite. This is the time when Ryan Wilder discovers Kate Kane’s Batsuit. Ryan is a sassy lesbian with a difficult past. She had no idea about what to do next with the suite was a victim of Gotham’s crimes and a survivor in the city’s tough streets.
It didn’t take much time to make Ryan realize how much the suite means to Gotham. This realization will take her through a personal journey, which will give her the confidence that it’s now her responsibility to be the substitute to the confident caped crusader. From that living in a van to chasing the villains in Batmobile, Ryan becomes a very different Batwoman than Kate. But both having their own responsibilities to Gotham City and its people.
