When a good content-driven show comes to an end, it acts as nothing but a blow of sadness in the faces of the audiences. Sitcoms have proven to be one of the best sources of entertainment in the last few decades and have been appreciated by the viewers for it’s decided plot and storyline. One such show titled ‘Superstore’ is coming to an end this year, after airing it’s scheduled the sixth season.
Created by Justin Spitzer, the show revolves around a group of employees who work at a fictional big-box store at ‘Cloud 9’ in-store, number 1217, in St. Louis, Missouri. The show is a unique workplace comedy that features the lives of the employees who strike maintain a balance between their professional and personal life. From dealing with the bargain it all customers to helping the clueless ones. From tolerating the window shoppers and strollers to the chaos causers, together, the family of employees deals with all of them, with each other’s support and presence.
The show basically centers around Amy, the store’s most committed and hardworking employee, who is the mother hen of the group and a clue, that holds the entire family of employees together. Secondly, it throws the spot on Jonah, a newly recruited employee, an innocent dreamer who hates being a part of the serious environment at a workplace. He thinks that work and job can be fun too, and proves his words by his actions. The fellow employees include Garrett, someone who is sarcastic and mocks people every now and then, Mateo, the most ambitious member of the lot, and Cheyenne, the sweet and friendly pregnant teenager.
Supervising them are Glenn and Dina, who have totally contrasting personalities. Glenn is a clueless, friendly, and calm human who serves as the manager of the store. But Dina, who is the assistant manager, is immensely aggressive and wants people to follow a strict protocol regarding the work environment in the store.

The previous episode of Superstore dealt with the social issues of white privilege and racism, and like usual times, it deals with it carefully and with delicacy. Dina handles Gernett the responsibility of conducting an employee meeting and help them list out the racist aspects of the store. Gernett has been working in the store for quite a long time and has never witnessed any policy that acted as a revolutionary change. Dina still pushes him into making him believe that racial justice has taken place under her position. Gernett feels that if a person does something in his power, it doesn’t mean that he has put an end to racism. Racism doesn’t vanish with a minute act. The episode serves as a great way to be a narrative of this sensitive issue, with all the conversations and segments between the employees.
Starring America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nico Santos, Nichole Sakura, and Mark McKinney in lead roles, the season’s sixth episode will go on air on 21 January 2021 on NBC and witness the return of Glenn from Quarantine.
