UK’s King Charles and Moldova’s Maia Sandu Emerge as Most Trusted International Leaders Among Romanians

According to a recent survey conducted by INSCOP for News.ro, approximately 56% of Romanians trust UK’s King Charles III, making him the most trusted international leader among Romanians.

Moldova’s president, Maia Sandu, follows closely behind, with 34% of respondents expressing trust in her. These two leaders are at the top of the most trusted international leaders among Romanians.

Regarding recognition, Russian President Vladimir Putin is the most well-known figure among Romanians, with 99.5% of participants saying they have heard of him.

He is followed by former US President Donald Trump (96.4%), King Charles III of Great Britain (93.3%), and current US President Joe Biden (92.1%).

Despite being highly recognized, Vladimir Putin ranks the lowest in trust among Romanians, with only 11.4% expressing faith in him.

Donald Trump fares slightly better, with a trust rate of 21.5%, placing him second to last. In contrast, King Charles III, with a trust rate of 56.2%, is the most trusted international leader among Romanians.

The survey also found that those who trust Joe Biden the most are individuals over 45 years old, those with higher education, white-collar workers, urban residents, and those not active on social networks.

On the other hand, those with high and very high trust in Donald Trump are predominantly men, people under 30 years old, and blue-collar workers.

The opinion poll was conducted using the CATI method (telephone interviews) from February 22 to 29, with a sample volume of 1,100 persons.

The data were stratified and representative across significant socio-demographic categories (gender, age, occupation) for the non-institutionalized Romanian population aged 18 and over. The maximum admitted data error is ± 2.95%, with a confidence level of 95%.
