What about “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”?
Production on “The Ellen DeGeneres” show has been put on hold until January, hoping for the host’s speedy recovery. The news was confirmed by a Telepictures spokesperson. “The Ellen DeGeneres” show has now aired its 18th season this year. The show also became one of the first television productions to invite a limited number of live audience owing to the widespread force of coronavirus. The show even hosted around 70 people who joined the sets as virtual audiences.
The show had recently hit the headlines due to a controversy that was created because of a statement released by the host of the show. She expressed her disappointment regarding the workplace and her being misinterpreted by hee team on sets. She mentioned in her statement that the atmosphere on the sets was toxic and not up to the mark and nothing like what she hoped it to be, in her words, “a place of happiness.” The controversy affected the show on a large scale, and the ratings of the show dropped by 38% in the initial days of its 18th season.
The award-winning show went under an internal investigation after complaints of bullying, racism, and misconduct were filed. A dozen employees anonymously reported that a fear-based work system behind the scenes of the show differed greatly from the host’s pattern of cool conduct and a happy and peaceful workspace. This even resulted in the firing of the top three producers and fluctuating fan support.
