Following the attack, bystanders captured and shared images of Sato lying on the ground, further spreading awareness of the horrific event. Local reports indicated that Takano not only stabbed Sato multiple times but also physically assaulted her while she lay helpless on the ground.

Obsessed Follower Arrested, Claims No Intent to Kill Despite Premeditated Actions

Takano was arrested on the spot, standing next to Sato with two knives in his possession—one covered in blood and another stored in his backpack. During questioning, he admitted to the crime but insisted that he did not intend to kill her. Initially charged with attempted murder, authorities are expected to upgrade the charge to murder as investigations continue. Takano’s statements and possession of weapons suggest that the attack may have been premeditated.

Reports reveal that Takano had been following Sato since 2021 and had financially supported her, giving her approximately $13,500, which she never repaid. It is also reported that both had previously sought police intervention regarding their interactions. The case raises concerns about online influencers’ safety and the risks posed by obsessed followers. As investigations continue, Sato’s tragic death serves as a grim reminder of the potential dangers associated with social media fame.
