Doctor Cha Jung Suk Synopsis
The show follows the titular character on her journey of rediscovering an old dream and the courage to achieve it. Cha Jung Suk is a housewife with two grown-up kids and a husband. All three members of her family were in the medical field while she was a medical graduate. Initially having given up on her career for the sake of her family, our protagonist now decides to get back into the field.
However, it will be an uphill battle for Mrs. Cha as she would be directly working under her husband, head surgeon Seo In Ho. It doesn’t sound so bad initially, but Seo In Ho has been cheating on his wife. He is also exceptionally adept at keeping his private life and work life separate, so Cha Jung Suk would have difficulty navigating this complex relationship. It becomes harder considering she would be working next to her son and daughter, who are also fellow residents. However, her stoic personality and courage will be her biggest aides to help her on her journey.

A cast of Doctor Cha Jung Suk
While the supporting cast has not yet been announced, the two main leads of the show have been confirmed. Popular singer-actress Uhm Jung-Hwa will play Cha Jung Suk. She is known to be one of the unconventionally successful idol-turned-actors in the industry and has been dubbed the ‘Korean Madonna’ for her looks and diverse talents. One of her most successful films is the 2017 production Dancing Queen, and she recently also appeared in the heartwarming series Our Blues.
On the other hand, Kim Byung Chul has been cast to play Seo In Ho. The actor has appeared in several other hit TV shows and is known for playing a convincing antagonist. His best works include SKY Castle, Goblin, Sisyphus: The Myth, Mr. Sunshine, and All of Us Are Dead.
Release Date And Where to Watch
While there has been no news yet regarding the exact date, the series is set to premiere this October on the South Korean channel JTBC. The channel has been host to popular titles such as Itaewon Class, Law School, and My Liberation Notes. Doctor Cha Jung Suk will likely enter streaming platforms shortly after it airs.
