Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has taken decisive action in response to the severe storms that ravaged the state last week. Declaring a state of emergency in 11 counties on Sunday, Governor DeWine mobilized resources to aid affected communities.

Among the hardest-hit regions was Logan County, where the storms claimed three lives. In response, the governor activated the Ohio National Guard to assist in the cleanup efforts in this devastated area.

The emergency declaration mandates the collaboration of all relevant state departments and agencies, directing them to contribute services, equipment, supplies, and personnel toward response and recovery operations, as outlined by the governor’s office.

The impact of the severe weather extended beyond Ohio, affecting parts of Kentucky, Indiana, and Arkansas as well. In one Indiana community, approximately 40 individuals sustained injuries, while numerous homes suffered damage. Additionally, tornadoes were reported in Illinois and Missouri, further underscoring the widespread devastation wrought by the storms.
