Iranian Diplomats to US: ‘Keep Out’ of Iran-Israel Conflict

Iranian representatives issued a stark warning to the United States following a drone and missile attack on Israel, urging America to refrain from involvement

Iranian representatives issued a stark warning to the United States following a drone and missile attack on Israel, urging America to refrain from involvement in what they described as an Iran-Israel conflict.

This statement was made after Tehran’s attack, which they claimed was a legitimate act of defense in response to an Israeli strike on April 1 near the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria, which killed two high-ranking officials of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations emphasized on social media that their military action was executed under Article 51 of the UN Charter, asserting it as a right to self-defense in response to prior aggressions by Israel.

The post further declared the incident resolved unless provoked further, cautioning that any additional aggression by Israel would invoke a much stronger response from Iran.

This development comes despite heightened tensions following Iran’s drone missile strike on Israel, an act the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) described as a direct and serious escalation. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari of the IDF asserted that Israel’s military readiness was at its peak in preparation for extensive conflict.

In response to these events, Israel’s UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan has appealed to the United Nations to address what he views as a clear violation of international norms by Iran, criticizing the global body for its lack of response and calling for immediate action.

As the situation continues to reveal, President Biden has been closely monitoring developments, reflecting the seriousness with which the U.S. is treating the potential for broader conflict. The IDF remains on high alert, with ongoing assessments as the region braces for possible further escalations.
