Donald Trump made a remarkable appearance at the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday, despite plans for a fundraiser being shut down by race organizers earlier in the week.

The former president greeted the crowd with his trademark fist pump and mingled with attendees, including McLaren Racing’s CEO Zak Brown and Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) president Mohammed ben Sulayem.

Despite speculation about his attendance, race organizers had sent a cease-and-desist letter to real estate investor Steven Witkoff, warning against hosting a fundraiser in the Paddock Club suites.

Despite this, Trump’s presence at the event garnered attention, particularly given his ongoing legal troubles, including a trial in New York related to hush money payments.

McLaren Racing released a statement clarifying that Trump’s visit was not a political endorsement but rather a recognition of the office of the President of the United States. Meanwhile, the Trump campaign continued its activities in South Florida, with events hosted by figures like House Speaker Mike Johnson and Lara Trump.

During the weekend, Trump criticized the Biden administration, referring to it as a “Gestapo.” This remark came together with his ongoing legal battles, including cases related to alleged falsification of business records, hoarding of classified documents, and attempts to undermine the electoral process.

Despite the legal challenges and controversies surrounding him, Trump’s presence at the Miami Grand Prix showcased his continued engagement in public events and politics.
