Meet the Winner Of American Idol Season 20

Noah Thompson, a 20-year-old construction worker from Louisa, Kentucky.

Noah Thompson was crowned "American Idol" after receiving 16 million votes.

Thompson had no prior musical experience or training.

Arthur Johnson, a coworker and friend from Louisa, persuaded him to audition for the show.

Thompson was diagnosed with COVID-19 during the Top 7 week and performed two times for "American Idol" from his hotel room.

Thompson sang a duet with Melissa Etheridge in the  finale on Sunday.

He also did a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm on Fire" as well as his debut single, "One Day Tonight."

Thompson will get $250,000 as the winner, as well as a record deal with Hollywood Records and the title of "American Idol."
