Scottish Football Awards Apologize For The Misconduct

After'sexist and racist jokes' were made at an awards banquet, the Scottish Football Writers' Association issued an apology.

Eilidh Barbour, a presenter for both BBC Sport and Sky Sports, is a sports broadcaster.

After attending the event and hearing the address, she wrote on Twitter that she had "never felt more unwelcome in the industry."

Barbour's remark was retweeted by the co-chair of the Women in Journalism Scotland organisation.

Gabriella Bennett was also reported to attend the awards banquet.

When the jokes were made, Bennett said her table "walked out" of the awards show.

and reported that Barbour's table had also left the room.

There was no indication of who made the jokes or what was said.

The Scottish Football Writers' Association issued an apology statement on Monday.
