Sue Barker, the well-known host of the BBC's tennis coverage, has announced her retirement after this year's Wimbledon.
Despite being granted a three-year extension, the 66-year-old host has decided to retire after..
30 years
on the air.
Barker left her post as host, which she had held for 24 years, last year.
She issued a formal statement via the BBC, saying:

‘What a wonderful time I’ve had working on some of the biggest sporting events around the world. I will miss it terribly but after 30 years I feel the time is right for me. I’ve worked with the best"

Since 2000, the former tennis PRESENTERhas hosted theBBC's Wimbledon coverage,which she beganin 1993.
The Wimbledon men's final will be played on July 10th, and it will be Barker's final match as a host.
"I’m very happy to be leaving with no regrets and on my own terms while I am still on top of the job, it just feels like the right time to go and leave it to others."
