Wimbledon 2022: Novak Djokovic defeats Nick Kyrgios

On Sunday, Novak Djokovic won the Wimbledon men's singles championship by defeating Nick Kyrgios.

It was the 21st Grand Slam singles victory for Djokovic.

Kyrgios was held at bay by Djokovic, who won 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (3) in a match that lasted three hours and one minute.

With the win, Djokovic won his fourth consecutive Wimbledon singles championship and eighth overall.

He won his 28th straight match at Wimbledon, securing the trophy. He had reached 32 Grand Slam finals. His current finals record is 21-11.

He said as he held the trophy close to his heart, “I’ve lost the words for what this tournament means to me and my family.”
