Early 2021 is the time when we might all witness Lucifer season 5 part 2 officially being called Season 5B. In fact, it has been reported that up until the whole world faced this pandemic starting in March of 2020, all the 16 episodes of the show were filmed.
Later, Tom Ellis, the lead titular actor in the show, disclosed that the production team and the cast members are halfway done with the show. This means that there might still be 4 or 5 episodes left to cover. Also, back in the latter half of June 2020, it was reported that the process of production on Lucifer season 5, part 2, has been rescheduled. This was done in order to start the production at some point in October of 2020.
What is the production status?
This news came up once again in the news media outlets in early September 2020 that Lucifer Season 5 Part 2 will return once again to start production. This happened on the 24th of September 2020. All the cast members started coming back to the set back on the 22nd of September 2020. It was two days earlier than the scheduled beginning day. All this while, a variety of safety measures were undertaken in order to ensure the hygiene and health of all our crew as well as cast members.
Also, we can even expect a bit of a reshoot in this season, given the fact that the show has greenlit a sixth installment too now, which earlier was targetted as a canceled one. There will also be a lot of plot changes that will help the series to keep going. Throughout the return of the filming process, we even got to see some of the shots of everything that we can expect. Well, to be honest, there were two huge cranes that were set up in a football stadium.

Later in October of 2020, it was seen that the production crew shifted the sixth season of Lucifer, which is also getting filmed along with Lucifer Season 5 Part 2. This news is confirmed on the 25th of October 2020. It all happened at the Baltimore Comic-Con live event. Even Joe Henderson was asked about the post-production process, which was happening at that point in time, he said that it is all coming well for him. He also revealed how they have already done the entire work on episode 16 in season 5. Just the finale has some work left.
