The Mandalorian Season 3: Rumors For The Renewal

After “The Mandalorian” aired its last episode of the second season with an epic finale, the fans already wait for a season renewal. The finale featured a fierce duel, intense battles, a legendary return, and little breadcrumbs of hints about what’s coming next. Amidst a wave of announcements, Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy also announced that the next chapter in the story of The Mandalorian would be coming around Christmas 2021. But she didn’t specify whether she was talking about The Mandalorian season 3 or some other project. In addition, while she discussed the project, an image of Boba Fett was in the background. With the end of season 2, the viewers have got some hope about the show’s renewal. The post-credits sequence of The Mandalorian season 2 makes it clear that the next chapter in the Star Wars TV universe will be a spin-off called The Book of Boba Fett that would focus on the titular bounty hunter who was reintroduced in the second season of the show.

On being asked about the show, Favreau said the show could be conveniently filmed during the pandemic as they’re in very small situations, and most of the time, the show has a lot of characters in masks. Most of the work and sequences involve a lot of digital work that augments things. So the show is probably well-equipped and is flexible enough to follow all the protocols that are emerging surrounding the restart of work. He further mentioned that “The Mandalorian” season 3 started production back in April, right after the coronavirus pandemic hit in the United States. Preproduction started in the spring.

Giancarlo Esposito, starring in “The Mandalorian,” said in an interview that season 2 had added enough depth to the storyline that will be explored in season 3.
