The Bachelor Season 25: Filming Details Revealed

The Bachelor Season 25

The Bachelor is a reality dating series that has been airing since March 2002 on ABC. Its popularity even resulted in several spin-offs, including The Bachelorette, Bachelor Pad, Bachelor in Paradise, and Bachelor: Winter Games. The Bachelor Season 25 had started airing on the 4th of January, 3 days after New Year. Besides what the show is about, the show is also known for it’s beautiful and exquisite locations.

It has filmed in several countries such as the USA, Canada, England, New Zealand, Vietnam, Thailand, and Korea. It is also filmed in other locations such as Paris and Rome. But the latest season of the Bachelor will be filmed at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, 70 miles away from Pittsburgh, and there will be a lot of pine trees instead of palm trees this season. The official Twitter of the resort confirmed this news and said that they were delighted to be a part of this experience and help find love.

In June 2020, the showmakers announced that they decided to be more inclusive in their series. ABC had cast Matt James as the first black bachelor in the history of the series. The decision got a lot of support from the Black Lives Matter movement. Matt James is a 28-year-old real estate broker charity founder who hails from Raleigh, California. He was previously seen in the Season 16 of The Bachelorette, which had Clare Crawley as the Bachelorette.

What was the filming like during the COVID-19 situation?

The Bachelor’s filming had to follow a lot of strict COVID-19 protocols, and it was filmed mostly on a closed set. The cameras have been rolling for quite some time throughout the 25th season, parallel to the current Bachelorette situation. It was stated that on September 10th, Matt James had met the girls vying for his attention when the limousine arrivals were filmed.

While the series’s production was starting to carry out, the cameras could not start rolling for quite some time. After they rented out the resort in Pennsylvania, the entire cast and crew were required to quarantine after traveling there. They started filming after that and were expected to wrap around Thanksgiving. The extra female contestants were brought to Pennsylvania as well, just in case one of them tested positive and they had to be sent home. Thankfully, all the potential cast members had tested negative for the virus. While on the Bachelorette, the male contestants were also tested, but unfortunately, some of them had tested positive for the virus and were sent home.

The testing element was the one key element learned during the season, given the fact that it was one of the first productions to be back at work during the pandemic. The Bachelorette’s current season was filmed at the La Quinta Resort and Club near palm springs. After filming that season, the host Chris Harrison said they were confident about completing the Bachelor’s 25th season.
