The Rookie is a police procedural television program that was released on October 16, 2018, on ABC. It is created by Alexi Hawley. The series cast includes Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T Jones, Titus Mankin Jr, Mercedes Mason, Melissa O Neil, Afton Williamson, Mekia Cox, and Eric Winter. John Nolan is a 45-year-old divorced man who lives in Pennsylvania with his 19-year-old son. He was the owner of a construction company. After inadvertently helping police officers to stop a bank robbery, he moves to Los Angeles to pursue a new career as a police officer in the LAPD. After he graduates from the Police Academy, Nolan must face the challenges and difficulties that his new life has to offer.

The episode picks up from where it left off, with Nolan repairing the damaged wall. Lucy is trying to get rid of the bad vibes, and Jackson is also present to help. Lucy calls out that it is not fair that Grey is holding Nolan back, but he says it’s okay as actions have consequences. They later head out to Lucy’s car, but find that it’s not there as someone has stolen it. Nolan later shows up at the station with Harper as Grey tells everyone that there are new rules in this department. Chen tells everyone that Lucy’s car was stolen while Lopez shows up for her new job as a detective.
West is in the car with his new partner Stanton as they talk about their personal lives while they are driving. They later see a guy pulled onto the side of the road with a car problem, and they stop to help him out. Meanwhile, Lopez gets her first case as a detective. She heads to the funeral home and is welcomed with a funny smell. She asks the owner if he cremated someone recently, he answers no. She looks inside the incinerator and sees some ashes inside, and asks the owner whose it is.
Nolan is outside handing out flyers; while doing that, he sees a man break into a car window and steal something valuable and begins to run after the guy. He calls in Stanton and West to help take down the guy, and he gets caught. The guy is arrested. Lopez gets in trouble with her superiors about the funeral home as there is no DNA trace found in the ashes, so she has no case.
Bradford and Chen stop when they see a woman screaming at a man in her car. Bradford asks the woman if there is any way they can get the man out of the car without the use of a weapon. They get the man out and calm him down and tell him to apologize to the woman. Then the woman asks her to look for her car and shows the picture. They find the car and see that a 17-yeard-old girl is living in it.
Tamara, the girl who stole Chen’s car, confesses that she left the shelter last night. She wants to find her but tells West that her partner is giving her a hard time. West tells her about how Stanton once spoke disrespectfully to a black family once a day before when they responded to a burglary. Later, Chen finds Tamara outside and tells her that she can live in the car for some time, but he has to report to him every day and find a new place to live. The Rookie Season 3 Episode 3, titled “La Fiera,” will be released on January 17th, 2021. All the episodes are now on air on ABC.
