Timothée Chalamet Thanks Tom Cruise for Being His Mentor and Supporter. Timothée Chalamet, an Oscar-nominated actor who is 27 years old, expressed his sincere gratitude for Tom Cruise’s important advice and support in a recent interview with GQ magazine. Following the completion of his work on the first Dune film, Chalamet said Cruise sent him an “incredibly inspiring email.”

Chalamet was moved by the email, in which Cruise not only praised his performance but also extended a helping hand by providing a list of experienced trainers who could assist him with motorcycle and helicopter stunts. Cruise emphasized the importance of traditional training, drawing a parallel with Old Hollywood practices, where actors would undergo rigorous dance and fight training. He conveyed the message that the commitment to such high standards was now a personal choice.

Chalamet recalled his time on Dune: Part Two and revealed that he had seen “Top Gun: Maverick” an incredible eight times. He even went so far as to rent a Budapest movie theater for the cast and crew of the movie, providing seats for an astonishing $2 each. He credited the film’s profound influence on him throughout the Dune filming time as the source of his inspiration and respect for it.

The effects of “Top Gun: Maverick” extended beyond just Chalamet. According to Variety, the movie had a very strong opening weekend at the US box office, earning $124 million, breaking the previous record for Tom Cruise’s film debuts, which was $100 million.

During the Cannes Film Festival in 2022, Cruise, who is now 61, expressed his unwavering commitment to the big screen, stating that he had never considered a streaming release for the Top Gun sequel, even though it had faced delays due to the pandemic.

Cruise also took a moment to express his gratitude to the audience before the film’s screening at the Cannes premiere, acknowledging the significance of the moment and the privilege of making movies for a dedicated and appreciative audience.
