Cameron Diaz is eager to set the record straight about her experience working with Jamie Foxx on “Back in Action,” her first film in a decade. Despite rumors suggesting otherwise, Diaz expressed her displeasure with the negative comments circulating about the movie set on the recent episode of the “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast.

During the podcast, Diaz vehemently rejected the criticisms surrounding the production, expressing frustration and a desire to dispel the rumors. She adamantly defended Foxx, describing him as a supportive figure who played the role of a “cheerleader” for the entire crew. According to Diaz, the Netflix movie set was a positive and professional environment, with Foxx exhibiting exemplary conduct at every level.

Diaz acknowledged that some typical challenges occurred during production but emphasized that these were natural occurrences in the filmmaking process. She specifically addressed the rumors circulating about the set until Foxx’s hospitalization in April, choosing not to delve into details but confirming that the Oscar-winner is currently doing well.

Responding to the “crazy stuff” she heard about Foxx making the set miserable and jeopardizing her return to acting, Diaz expressed anger at the unfounded claims. She revealed attempting to persuade Foxx to address the rumors, but he responded with grace, advising her to let the truth speak for itself.

Reflecting on her decision to return to acting after a decade-long hiatus, Diaz likened it to “riding a bike.” She clarified that the primary reason for her comeback was the opportunity to work alongside Foxx again. The duo previously collaborated in the 2014 film “Annie” and 1999’s “Any Given Sunday.”

“Back in Action” is an upcoming action-comedy featuring Diaz, Foxx, Kyle Chandler, and Glenn Close. Scheduled for a Netflix release in 2024, Diaz assured fans that her return to the big screen has been a positive and enjoyable experience despite the unwarranted rumors surrounding the film’s production.
