Pete Davidson has unexpectedly canceled his solo performances scheduled for tonight and tomorrow night at New York City’s Beacon Theatre, as well as future dates in Pittsburgh for the New Year. Ticket holders for the Beacon Theatre show received an email notification just hours before the scheduled start, while the announcement for the Pennsylvania appearances was made at lunchtime on Friday.
The venue, Beacon Theatre, also shared the cancellation news on Twitter, stating, ‘Please be advised that the Pete Davidson performances scheduled to take place at the Beacon Theatre on Fri, Dec 22 and Sat, Dec 23 have been canceled.’ Refunds for purchased tickets will be automatically processed within 30 days, and a statement expressed gratitude for understanding and ongoing support.
In addition to the New York and Pittsburgh cancellations, upcoming appearances in San Antonio, Chattanooga, Atlanta, Louisville, and Milwaukee over the next two weeks have also been scrapped. Davidson, known for his stint on SNL from 2014-2022 and for his roles in movies, has been in the public eye due to high-profile relationships with figures like Ariana Grande and Kim Kardashian. He is currently dating Madelyn Cline, with their relationship becoming known in October.
Despite enjoying their time together, reports suggest that Davidson and Cline don’t view their romance as ‘serious.’ The 30-year-old comedian has openly grappled with mental health and substance abuse issues, having checked into rehab in June to address borderline personality disorder and PTSD.
Davidson, diagnosed with borderline personality disorder at 23, has been candid about his mental health journey, sharing, ‘I got diagnosed with BPD a few years ago, and I was always just so confused all the time, and just thought something was wrong, and didn’t know how to deal with it.’ He emphasized the relief of having a diagnosis during an interview with Variety.
Following his rehab stint in June, Davidson was spotted at a Florida pizza shop in July, and later in the summer, he was involved in a car crash with his ex-girlfriend, Chase Sui-Wonders. Facing reckless driving charges, he put on comedy shows in Florida as part of his comeback before announcing a tour with John Mulaney and Jon Stewart. In October, he hosted the season premiere of SNL.
