St Patrick’s Day: Road Closure Details Ahead of Parades Across NI

Road users in Northern Ireland are being informed about traffic diversions in light of upcoming St. Patrick’s Day events. Belfast City Council has advised visitors and participants to plan their routes and allocate extra travel time to navigate around the city center.

Anticipated delays and diversions are expected during the SPAR Craic 10K event, commencing from City Hall at 9 am and concluding at Ormeau Park.

The route encompasses the city center, Falls Road, Stranmillis Embankment, and Ormeau Road, with disruptions anticipated between 8 am and 11 am.

Additionally, the St. Patrick’s Day parade, starting from City Hall at 1:30 p.m., will follow a circular path via Chichester Street, Victoria Street, High Street, Castle Place, and Donegall Place before returning to City Hall. Rolling diversions will be enforced at intersections along the parade route from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Scheduled closures will occur at specific times:

Donegall Square West at 12:30 pm

College Square East and Wellington Place at 12:30 pm

High Street (inner), Castle Place, Royal Avenue, and Donegall Place at 12:30 pm

Victoria Street at 12:30 pm

Bridge Street at 12:40 pm

Chichester Street and Ann Street at 12:50 pm

Furthermore, on-street parking, including blue badge spaces, will be prohibited from 6 am to 3 pm along Donegall Place, High Street, and Bridge Street.

Translink will maintain a regular service on Sunday; however, diversions may be implemented during the parade. Travelers should refer to bus stop displays or visit www.translink.co.uk for real-time updates.
