Reform UK’s stance on abandoning net zero commitments and challenging aspects of gender questioning received a positive reception from attendees at the TUV event in Kells on Saturday.
Richard Tice, the leader of Reform UK, addressed the audience and emphasized the importance of discussions regarding funding and collaboration between the two parties, who recently announced a partnership for the upcoming UK general election.
In an interview with the News Letter, Mr. Tice highlighted the need for further discussions regarding candidate selection and fundraising efforts, acknowledging the financial challenges associated with politics. He stressed the urgency of saving the United Kingdom, citing threats to the Union, economy, and culture.

Mr. Tice criticized the Conservative Party, accusing them of damaging Britain and warned of potential bankruptcy under Labour’s leadership.
Regarding Reform UK’s policy positions, Mr. Tice outlined a straightforward approach. On the issue of net zero commitments, he advocated for scrapping the entire Climate Change Act.
Concerning gender ideology, Mr. Tice proposed a decisive response, suggesting that schools should be instructed to cease promoting gender questioning and related concepts immediately. He emphasized the need for clear consequences, stating that individuals perpetuating such ideologies should face dismissal.
