Elon Musk Hints at Backing Another Presidential Candidate, Not Favoring Biden

Elon Musk Teases Last-Minute Presidential Endorsement, Says He’s ‘Leaning Away from Biden’

In a recent interview released on Monday, Elon Musk hinted at the possibility of endorsing a presidential candidate at the last minute, indicating a leaning away from supporting Joe Biden. Despite this inclination, Musk emphasized his commitment to refrain from donating to either candidate in the 2024 election.

Speaking with TV personality Don Lemon, Musk openly discussed his stance, stating, “I’m leaning away from Biden. I’ve made no secret of that.” He also mentioned the potential for a late endorsement but stressed the importance of making a thoughtful decision before doing so. Musk expressed his willingness to provide a detailed explanation if he does decide to endorse a candidate.

During the interview, Lemon posed various probing questions to Musk on political and personal matters, including his use of ketamine, thoughts on the 2024 election, and insights into SpaceX. Musk reportedly agreed to the interview without setting limitations on the topics discussed.

However, following the interview, Musk abruptly terminated Lemon’s partnership with X, criticizing Lemon’s approach as resembling traditional CNN-style content, which he deemed ineffective.

Addressing Lemon’s inquiries about his recent meeting with former President Trump in Florida, Musk clarified that the encounter was unplanned. Despite Lemon’s persistent questioning regarding financial support for Trump’s endeavors, Musk asserted that he had no intention of contributing to Trump’s campaign or legal expenses.

Musk reiterated his stance on abstaining from financial involvement in the 2024 presidential race, stating, “While I’ll voice my opinion, I don’t want to put a thumb on the scale monetarily that is, you know, significant.”

Despite the fallout with Lemon, Musk’s interview was still aired. Since acquiring the company, Musk has launched a long-form video platform on X, collaborating with figures such as Tucker Carlson and planning future projects with individuals like Tulsi Gabbard, a potential vice-presidential candidate for Trump.

Lemon later released a video on X, reflecting on the interview with Musk and defending the importance of their exchange, despite tensions. However, Musk’s decision to cancel Lemon’s show led to criticism from independent journalists who use X as a platform, accusing Musk of failing to uphold the principles of free speech.

Matt Taibbi, known for his reporting on the “Twitter Files,” expressed disappointment in Musk’s handling of free speech issues, echoing sentiments shared by others who had hoped for a more supportive stance from the tech entrepreneur.
