What Is The Plot Of Love In Contract?

Love In Contract Episode 8: Release Date, Preview and Streaming Guide

Choi Sang Eun, portrayed by one of the most talented actresses, Park Min Young, embodies what an ideal companion should be as she is absolutely charming, brilliant, and gorgeous; this is why she decides to use her abilities as a contract marriage expert and calls herself a single life helper rather than being married.

Sang Eun changes into the ideal companion for each of her clients, enabling individuals who hire her to live the ideal single life without being required to commit to a committed, lifelong partnership. Additionally, she frequently gets to stand out while wearing a bridal gown. She doesn’t always have to go through the formalities of a full wedding ceremony, but if the client is prepared to pay, she will sign a marriage license.

By the time we first meet her at age 33, she has already been through 12 divorces because she is only permitted to be officially married to one person at a time. Jung Ji Ho, portrayed by Go Kyung Pyo, is a regular customer who has been using Sang Eun’s services three days a week for the past five years on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Sang Eun knows very little about Ji Ho, but it doesn’t stop her from having some rather unexpected affection for him.

The equally unexpected feelings she’s recently experienced for one of her newest customers, Kang Hae Jin, played by Kim Jae Young, are making her life even more challenging. Hae Jin is well-known actor who takes her services on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and he constantly makes Sang Eun’s heart flutter. One of the great contradictions of Korean television is illustrated in Love in Contract, as the ultimate objective of many Korean dramas is marriage to Mr. or Mrs. Perfect, yet those marriages seem unrealistic.

Dramas appear to acknowledge that marriage is a social concept that is frequently misused by people looking to advance in society. The contradiction is that this narrative also presents marriage as the ideal status to strive towards. If we look more into Ji-ho, he is even more of a mystery because no one is aware of his line of work. The show’s scariest scene features him wielding a knife, looking at photographs of deceased women, and following a woman home the same night she is killed by a serial killer.
Serial killers have long been a popular subject in Korean media, but right now, it feels like there are too many of them. How does the serial killer angle benefit Love in Contract, though? Ji ho, being the actual murderer, is extremely doubtful; he’s more likely to be looking into the killings in some way. Furthermore, considering the show’s high concept, impending love triangle, and murky business ties, it feels like adding one more ingredient to an already crowded plot.
