Currently, South Korea is home to a large number of Korean Pop groups, all of which are the best in their respective genres.

Because of the worldwide popularity of K-pop and the competition among these K-pop groups, several entertainment companies have created groups that fans may enjoy.

As a result, companies hire the best talent who will flawlessly entice fans and then bind those talented members as a group for several years. As everyone is very much acquainted with small groups like BTS and BlackPink, K-pop groups with more members are also worth listening to.

So, here is the curated list of all K-Pop groups with the most members that you would love listening to.

NCT (23 Members)

Due to its larger membership than any other K-pop group, NCT is ranked first on the list. This 23-member group split into subgroups – NCT U, NCT Dream, NCT 127, and WayV.

NCT includes members from the older to the younger generation. All of the members are currently in their 20s and 30s.

Even though many times members perform with their respective subgroups, all 23 members also released some of the best albums together, including, Resonance – 2020, Universe 2021, and Empathy 2018.

NCT U is the only subgroup under NCT that features all 23 members, but they perform according to the category of the albums. Talking about the other subgroups, the members are fixed, and they only work with their particular groups but, when needed, also work with the other subunits.

Apeace ( 21 Members)

After NCT, we have reserved a second place for the most iconic but underrated K-pop group in the Korean music industry, Apeace, formerly known as Double B 21 and Double B. Apeace made its debut with a total of 21 members with a debut album, Apeace. Even this group was then got divided into four sub-groups, Sky, Earth, River, and Burning.

Super Junior is known as one of the senior generation groups in the Korean Music industry and debuted in the year 2005 with a total of 13 members. As some of the members left the group maybe because of some problems and controversies, currently, 10 members are still under a contract with SM Entertainment and are producing the best music pieces for fans.

Super Juniors members who stayed together no matter what hurdles they went through got successful in becoming one of the most successful k- pop groups under SM entertainment. Their very well-known song ‘Sorry – Sorry,’ which was released in 2009, gained worldwide popularity and success, leading them to win several awards.

Even Super Junior, a group of 13, got divided into five groups, and they started releasing albums according to the people’s tastes and categories.

The Subgroups and their members are as follows:

  • Super Junior K.R.Y. – This subgroup consists of three members, including Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung, and the initials of their names are used the create a group name.
  • Super Junior D & E – This subgroup is formed for those who like the duo of Donghae and Eunhyuk a lot. Even the group name consists of the initials of their names.

  • Super Junior M – This subgroup includes a total of 7 members named Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Zhou Mi, Donghae, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun. M in the group name means Mandarin because this group consists of all Chinese members.
  • Super Junior H – Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Sungmin, and Eunhyuk are the five members who release songs under this subgroup. H in the name full forms to Happy.

Y – Teen (14 Members)

Y–Teen consists of 7 boy members from the Monsta X group and seven girl members from the WJSN group. This group was formed in collaboration with the mobile company KT under Starship Entertainment.

As fans got to see this amazing collaboration between the members of the two well-known k-pop groups, there was nothing more that fans could ever ask for. Y-Teen perfectly slayed in their single and MV, making the group one of the best, consisting of both girl and boy members.

Although the group gained a lot of popularity in the years 2017 and 2018, they got disbanded in the year 2019 because of the controversies started surrounding this group. Subsequently, they released only 3 singles, that included VVV, Don’t Be Pretty, and N.E.W.S.

14U’s sudden news of disbanding made their fanbase so sad, and they even started hating one of the members who allegedly was involved in a sexual relationship with BGent’s head director. It was also alleged that he also had sexual connections with one of the international fans.

As the news started getting viral, the whole group got disbanded only after 2 years after their debut.

Cosmic Girls (13 Members)

Cosmic Girls, the group which comes under starship entertainment, previously had only 12 members when they debuted. However, only a few months later to their debut, they also welcomed the thirteenth member to their group. Hence, Currently, Cosmic Girls comprises a total of 13 members.

Cosmic Girls first made their appearance in the year 2016, and they are also known by another name, WJSN. Seven members of the group also collaborated with Monsta X to form the group Y-Teen to produce a single, as discussed earlier.

Some of the members of Cosmic Girls have formed two sub-groups WJSN Chocome which included four members named, Soobin, Yeoreum, Dayoung, and Luda, and WJSN The Black, which included Seola, Bona, EXY, and Eunseo.

Stardom Entertainment’s group made their thrilling debut, and the single Dogg’s Out became extremely famous when back in 2013. Previously known as ToppDog, the group changed its name to Xeno-T, and it was active with 5 members till 2021.

In the year 2018, ToppDog decided to change its name to Xeno- T. The name is a combination of two words, Xenogeneic and Top Class. This newly formed group, with a very fresh start, debuted with its first album in Japan.

EXO (12 Members)

EXO is the second most followed group in South Korea and worldwide after BTS. Exo currently has 9 members but is quite inactive because the members of the group are going one by one for mandatory military service.

Their latest album is Don’t Fight The Feeling’ in which some of the members were not present, and the surprising appearance of Chinese member Lay shocked fans because he was inactive for quite a long time.

EXO debuted in the year 2011 and was meant to split up into two groups, EXO – K and EXO – M. Because Chinese and Korean members were part of EXO, EXO was not fully a Korean group, but it was a Korean- Chinese group.

Due to some unavoidable controversies, three Chinese members, Luhan, Tao, and Kris, parted their ways from the group and settled in China. So currently, only one member, Lay, is a part of EXO.

EXO has always been the group that contained the most amazing Vocals, thrilling rappers, and charming visuals. Even today, EXO is one of the well-known groups among Fans, aka EXO-Ls.

Currently, Treasure consists of only 10 members, as two members had to leave the group very recently.

The Boyz consists of Charming boys with masculine vocals who never leave an opportunity to throw an impression on fans.

When Debuted, The Boys consisted of 12 members; however, due to some unavoidable controversial problems, one of the members, Hwall had to leave the group. Consequently, there are 11 members who are currently working very hard to come up with intriguing albums for their fans.

IZ*ONE (12 Members)

The group is formed with the contestants of the reality show, Produce 48. The group comprised Korean and Japanese members, and they produced songs for both Korean and Japanese fans. IZ*ONE got so much popularity since its arrival. IZ*ONE was then managed by Swing Entertainment and was active for four years.

IZ*ONE made its debut in the year 2018 with an extended play, Color*IZ. With this debut song, the group gained worldwide popularity, and their fanbase started increasing drastically. All of the twelve members, with their talents, never failed to entice their fanbase.

IZ*ONE call the fans WIZ*ONE. Even though the group got disbanded due to the end of the contract in 2021, fans never stopped supporting them. They raised more than $900000 to save the group from disbanding. However, their efforts failed, and fans are still hoping for their reunion.

Golden Child (11 Members)

Woollim Entertainment’s group Golden Child also known as Go Cha, is currently one of the best groups in South Korea. The group debuted in the year 2017 with their debut album Go-Cha! Since 2017,  all of the 11 members never left a chance to slay by dancing on the stage while enticing fans with melodious singing.

One of the members, Jaesoek left the group in the year 2018 for constantly suffering from health issues; this made fans sad. However, they are strongly supporting him, and the whole group and fans’ support give them strength to go on producing the best music pieces that fans worldwide would love to listen to.

However, soon many members will enlist for mandatory military service, so you won’t be able to see some members, but they will soon return after the end of their mandatory military service.

Wanna One (11 Members)

As IZ*ONE, even Wanna Won was formed with the contestants of the reality show, Produce 101. Wanna One made a debut in the year 2017 but immediately got disbanded in the year 2019. The group was active under Swing Entertainment and produced some of the best music pieces.

Wanna One’s many members are also very active in modeling and acting. Even before signing a contract with the group, members were so much proficient in modeling, dancing, acting, and singing. Additionally, as the contract ended in the year 2019, members didn’t stop and started working in the acting and music industries solely.

Wanna One again got reunited in the year 2021 for Mnet’s Asian Music Awards stage performance, but Lai Kuan Lin did not join. Currently, the group is very much active and entices the fans frequently.

Their latest song, ‘Beautiful’ was released on January 2022.

Many of the groups which were formed through the reality show Produce supposedly have more than 10 members. Even I.O.I was formed with a group of 11 members in the year 2016. Since I.O.I’s debut, its fanbase has shown a lot of support, and ever since the group disbanded because of the end of the contract, which was for one year, fans have been waiting for their reunion.

I.O.I debuted with the album, Chrysalis, which quickly gained popularity, and then for one year, I.O.I came up with back-to-back hits.

I.O.I also had a subunit that consisted of 7 members Nayoung, Somi. Chungha, Yoojung, Sohye, Jiequiong, and Dayeon.

All of the members of this group were very talented, and even after their separation, they worked hard and came up with solo albums to entice fans. So – Mi and Chungha were the ones who got a successful start to their solo career, and other members are also making fans drool over them by making numerous appearances on screen with something new and exciting.

Pentagon was formed in Mnet’s survival show named Pentagon Maker. In 2016, Pentagon made its debut with an extended play named ‘Pentagon.’

E’Dawn was removed from the group because it was confirmed that HyunA and he was secretly dating.

Cherry Bullet (10 Members)

FNC Entertainment’s Cherry Bullet, the group which was comprised of 10 members when it debuted, is one of the prominent girl groups in South Korea. Comprising the most charming and the prettiest members who never fail to showcase their cuteness to the world, Cherry Bullet is loved by many K-pop fans.

Currently, many of the members left the group, and only 7 members are active. However, they are still working great toward enticing their fans. Many members left, alleging that they were not getting creative control while producing songs and performing at concerts.

Cherry Bullet debuted in the year 2019 and came up with an amazing debut single, ‘Let’s Play Cherry Bullet,’ that immediately gained so much popularity. Cherry Bullet recently released a new Music Video, Love In Space, in the year 2022.

 TRCNG (10 Members)

TRCNG full forms to Teen Rising Champion for a New Generation. TRCNG had a total of 10 members, but two members then left the group. TRCNG debuted in the year 2019 with the extended play “New Generation” and MV “Spectrum.”

TRCNG group was gaining so much fame in the start, but their fate was not that good. It all started when two of the members, Wooyeop and Taeson filed a complaint against the group’s parent company, TS Entertainment.

Both of the members asked for the cancellation of the contract and accused TS Entertainment of child abuse and extortion. However, the parents of the remaining members denied the allegations and filed suit against Wooyeop and Taeson for spreading false information.

Subsequently, in the year 2021, TS Entertainment was privately closed, and people had no idea about it. Then it was declared that TRCNG has got disbanded in the year 2022.

There are many K-pop groups that formed with more than 10 members, and However, eventually, when members get subjected to controversies and other problems, they may have to leave the groups.

But several entertainment agencies are planning to come up the big groups because a lot of fans love to follow the groups with the most members.

As even NCT is planning to tie up with the US entertainment agency MGM Worldwide Television, some of the international artists may be included in NCT’s new subunit, NCT Hollywood.
