IPL Closing Ceremony Makes A comeback!

The closing ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is back! Previously, it was a regular occurrence pre-pandemic. From 2020, there were prohibitions in place. However, this year the IPL closing ceremony will make a return. This news has captured the imagination of the fans.

The Motera stadium will serve as the venue for the IPL final. It is officially the largest cricket stadium in the world. As it stands, the ceremony will feature some big names. Oscar-winner A.R.Rahman and actor Ranveer Singh will be there. A few others are also expected to join. All in all, the event promises to be a spectacle.

India recently entered its 75th year of Independence. ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ will be the theme of the show. Also, the ceremony will shed light on the country’s cricketing journey in this period.

An IPL final is a highly watched event. The inclusion of the ceremony will only add to the viewership. Notably, the final will now be starting at 8 pm. Effectively, a 30-minute delay from the scheduled 7:30 start. A source from BCCI reports that TCM Platform will handle the entire closing ceremony. They say that the whole field of play will be used for the show.

When is the IPL closing ceremony?

The IPL closing ceremony is just around the corner. In other words, the IPL playoffs are not too far away. Yes, that’s right! The tournament is drawing to a close. However, fans have plenty to look forward to. Before the playoff rounds start, three league matches are to be played.

Subsequently, the first two playoff matches will take place on the 24th and 25th of May. The location? The Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The IPL will then move on to Ahmedabad. May 27, 7:30 pm will be the time for Qualifier 2. Eventually, the grand finale will be on the 29th of May.

That evening, the closing ceremony will begin at 6:30 pm. Reports suggest it’ll a 40-minute long event.

The television broadcasters for the IPL are the Star Sports Network. A select few of their channels telecast all the live matches. The same is going to be the case on the day of the final. Furthermore, it is also possible to stream the IPL online. A Hotstar subscription is all you’ll need for that.
