There’s no arguing that Muv-Luv Alternative fans are ecstatic about the anime’s return for Season 2. It depicts a gripping tale of humanity’s struggle to survive after the world has been destroyed, and their last resort is relocation to space. In the Takeru Shirogane universe, a three-decade-long conflict has been waged against the BETA, an alien race that first colonized the planet in 1973.
As we had seen in episode 4, Takeru is astonished to discover that Meiya appears to have forgotten all about him when they meet up the next day for their outing. As a causality conductor, Takeru’s existence, according to Yuuko, is deleting his companions’ memories. When Takeru discovers he can no longer engage with his buddies, he tries to push Sumika away.
However, Sumika won’t leave him because she can feel his suffering. Takeru informs Sumika about his experiences in the alternate world and his attempts to save it in addition to the alternative Marimos death. As Sumika accepts Takeru’s explanation, she promises him that she won’t forget him, and it got ends up with a kiss as they declare their love for one another.
However, Takeru is shocked to learn that Sumika has also forgotten about him. Later, when the gym ceiling falls on top of Sumika, she nearly dies. Takeru asks Yuuko to get away from him when he believes his buddies are in danger, and she agrees. She goes on to show Takeru Sumika’s journals, showing how she used them to keep track of him even while her memory was failing.

The anime begins with Takeru Shirogane experiencing a nightmare that depicts the complete defeat of humanity. The fact that these nightmares originate from his life in an alternate reality, however, is unexpected.
Due to his recollections and alternate life-3 experiences, Alternative V, a scheme where a large number of people are taken into space to preserve mankind while the remaining billion suffer a painful death, is put into place.
To alter the course of human history and defeat Alternative V, Takingru recruited himself in a military base in Yokohama (as well as his old high school). With little time left, he makes an effort to persuade Professor Yuuko Kouzuki, vice-commander at the base and the person in charge of Alternative IV, to forbid Alternative V from happening.
He must successfully finish Alternative IV to do this, and to do so, he and the other base members must fly a gigantic humanoid machine known as the Tactical Surface Fighters (TSF). The anime is packed with light humor, action, intrigue, and, most crucially, a time rush to save humanity because he only has two months left to finish his training.
Review Of Muv-Luv Alternative’s Season 2 Episode 4
I thought two of episode 4’s best sequences were when Takeru and Yuuko looked through Sumika’s notebooks and when he talked to her in the park. These two situations may have been much better with Muv-Luv’s Additional number of feelings and a little more from his side.
Shirogane did a fantastic job of expressing the numerous feelings he was experiencing in this episode. His character loses it multiple times throughout the episode. After being in an accident and pleading to be erased, Sumika must deal with everyone he knows who has forgotten everything about him.
The fact that Yuuko is still there to inform him that he might be able to return to the other world and undo all that has happened since he returned is fantastic. I had first believed that Takerus’ time in his home world would come to an end with this episode, but I’m glad they once again kept things gradual.
