At the start of episode 5, Elan, who is from the Three Branches, is fighting a duel against three students who challenged him. Classmates who are watching the duel are expecting Elan to lose since he is at a disadvantage. But in just a few minutes, he defeats all of them. After the fight, Mercury, who is with her classmates, receives a call from Elan.
She is asked for a date, but she needs to come with Ariel, her mobile suit. After she told her classmates about the date, all of them were shocked as they had never expected Elan to ask her on a date. Since he is considered to be an emotionless being, they have never seen him getting angry or smiling. That is why he is also called the ‘Ice King.’
Before going on a date, we see Elan with a woman who is telling him about Suletta’s mobile suit. That she suspects the mobile suit is running on the GUND Format. But for that to confirm, someone needs to prove it. And for that, the woman asks Elan to find out the answer. And that’s why Elan asked Suletta on a date.
As Suletta prepares to leave for the date, Miorine comes rushing towards her and scolds Suletta for going on a date with a student who is from the Three Branches, as they are Miorine and Suletta’s enemies. Before she scolds her any further, Suletta Mercury leaves.
Elan, who is ready on the other side, waits for Suletta. When she arrives, he gets inside the suit, and they go to the battlefield. Meanwhile, a few students alert Guel about the date between them. Guel, who gets worried, rushes to the battlefield.
Elan asks about few questions to Suletta about when she first met Ariel. In response, she told him since she was a child, she and Ariel have been together. And unlike others, she considers him a part of his family and cherishes the bond. Elan, who is shocked by the response, asks her whether he can ride Ariel alone. Suletta gives Ariel to him.
When riding the suit, as assigned by the woman, he checks for proof whether this suit runs on GUND Format or not. As he is an engineered being, he tries to link his body with Ariel. And he can do so, which proves that Ariel is a GUNDAM. But unlike his, this is different. He gives back the suit to Mercury. And told her how pathetic she was to consider a mobile suit as a family.
By this time, Guel reaches the battlefield and sees Mercury crying after Elan’s remark. Seeing her like this, Guel gets angry and tells him not to talk to Suletta again. So, Elan asks Guel for a duel. At stake, Guel asks if he wins the duel, Elan will stop talking to Suletta, and Elan asks he if wins the duel he will fight against Suletta. At the end of the episode, we see both of them dueling, with Elan winning the duel easily.

At the end of Episode 5, Elan wins the duel against Guel, And as a reward, he asks for a duel against Mercury. But for the duel, he asks her to put Ariel on the wager. And that if he wins the duel, Ariel will be his.
As of now, there are no spoilers available about who will win the duel, but it would be interesting to know what she would do. It is to be reminded that she cannot deny dueling against Elan as those will be against the rules that govern the school. But she could do something about the stakes.
