New Series Dragon Ball Daima Announced For 2024

A fresh addition to the Dragon Ball franchise, “Dragon Ball: Daima,” has been officially announced and is set to premiere in fall 2024.

This exciting announcement was made at the New York Comic Con during the Dragon Ball session, accompanied by a sneak peek. The teaser, initially restricted during the livestream, was later shared by Toei Animation online, showcasing younger versions of characters like Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, and several others.

The new series is being crafted under the watchful eyes of Dragon Ball’s original creator, Akira Toriyama. Even though some fans find similarities with Dragon Ball GT, the series promises to present an original narrative, previously unexplored in the Dragon Ball universe. The panel hinted at Toriyama playing a more extensive role in “Daima” than his usual contributions.

Details about the show remain limited, including its placement within the Dragon Ball chronology. However, based on the teaser, we hear Shenron stating, “Now, state your wish.” This is followed by glimpses of a youthful Goku and a series of other characters, such as Chi Chi, Pamput, Krillin, Piccolo, and Shin, all appearing younger. A collection of screenshots from the teaser is available for viewing below.

For enthusiasts of the Dragon Ball saga, this announcement is monumental. Many had been waiting for news about a new series ever since “Dragon Ball Super” wrapped up. While there were rumors about today’s session unveiling a continuation of “Dragon Ball Super” post the two film releases, it appears the series is charting a somewhat different course, albeit with nods to its origins.
