Before specifying what comedic chaos A Couple of Cuckoos Episode 2 will bring, let’s review the pilot. The first episode of A Couple of Cuckoos was hilarious, with hints of seriousness in the mix. Nagi is shown to be a diligent, hard-working student who has a competitive streak when studying. He is a misfit in a delinquent family, the only one who lacks the rowdy characteristic of his family members. While he is excited and doesn’t plan to move in with his biological parents, his sister Sachi is concerned and almost bursts into tears at losing him as a brother. Nagi assures her he will not leave the family that raised him for the world—saying that he goes to study for the day.

On his way, he sees a girl his age attempting to jump from a bridge; Nagi rushes to save her, only to be scolded by her later. His day is further complicated when the girl he saved, Erika, blackmails him into her schemes, making him act as her fake boyfriend. He had no choice but to comply, taking the entirety of his day.
When he finally met his biological parents, he learned the switched child in that family was none other than Erika. Due to the fake stunt that they pulled off earlier, they could no longer openly deny the arranged marriage, which was informed to Nagi when he got there.

A Couple of Cuckoos Episode 2

The series is still in its infancy. We will see A Couple of Cuckoos Episode 2 expand upon other story elements. It has set up the central relationship of Nagi and Erika, or connection at least. Looking at the Ending, it is clear that Sachi Umano, Nagi’s sister, and Hiro Segawa will enter the fray of love quadrangle down the line. Going by manga, we can see Nagi’s biological parents setting up a place to live and getting to know each other before marriage. Nagi and Erika are in no spot to say no to their proposal. First, they will be hurting the feelings of their biological and adoptive parents. Secondly, the earlier Erika made Nagi do with him complicates the matter, leaving them no choice but to deal with the circumstances.
The second pivotal part of the show is Nagi indirectly working on getting his feeling through his crush. He is more than ever determent now to beat her in academics and convey his feelings to her. Going by Manga, Nagi’s Rival Hiro Segawa will develop feelings for her down the line. But since they are competitors, that story would probably happen in a dramatic exam showdown.
